Seems that way from the podcasts. I'm surprised by it though. Keys was playing really well towards the end of last season

Oh, I'm fairly confident in Baker making the right call. It's just an interesting tidbit from the camp reports.

Keys played at the end more last year because West was redshirting. He purposely chose to do so because he wanted to get another year on the team with his youngest brother coming to LSU.

Keys will play. May even pass West. But I think the plan is to have the Weeks' Bros be LSU's ILB group

We are 2.5 days into fall camp, there are a lot of position battles to be shaken out still, and as we've seen every single year, game 1 starters arent necessarily full season starters.

Was Keys ever ahead of West on the depth chart?

Wasn't Keys starting at the end of last season? A redshirt does complicate that but I would still say yes, the starter was ahead

Technically yes. But if I remember correctly, West was battling an injury and as you mentioned the redshirt factor. I don't think Keys was ever ahead of West when they were both 100% healthy. With that being said, I think they will both play a ton and probably both have games in which they start.

He’s like a coach on the field, so I get it

It's a total fail if the Weeks brothers don't dress up like the Hanson brothers from Slap Shot this halloween.

Yeah me too, especially since it’s only been two days into camp. Probably nothing will change throughout camp.

In a foregone time (i.e. late 80's/early 90's) there would be a poster of them dressed up in jeans standing by a General Lee lookalike car parked in front of the stadium with a Golden Girl in cutoffs standing by in a play on the Dukes of Hazzard.

But that was a time long ago, before social media and the perpetually aggrieved, where you could have fun without caring about "offending" one random individual out of a population of 300M people

I am pretty sure they are largely going by seniority for the first team reps; I wouldn't read much into it. I don't think Haulcy has been with the 1's yet, and we all expect him to start at Strong.
That being said Pyburn and Delane have been with the 1's.

When we go to nickel does the Star or the other Inside Backer usually come off the field?

2 good players who will play. A great problem to have which hasn't been the case the last several years the LB position.

The early-August depth chart isn't an end-all be-all. There are rotations at most every position - especially on defense.

I hope all 3 weeks brothers can be on the field at the same time at some point this season
