This would be a rational way to grow the US. I'm all for it. F Canada and let's bring in both Alberta and Saskatchewan.

I’d also take Manitoba and Yukon and NW territory. As for the rest, no thanks.

I want Saskatchewan, a corner of BC and Yukon as well, to complete a contiguous land route to Alaska. I'll take the Northern Territories too.

Let's give them the coastal area from Portland to Seattle (sorry, SirWinston), and all of Minnesota in return.

I would be OK with Alberta as a state. It would be red. They arent conservative like a conservative southern state, but they would be a solid red state like Montana.

The people there are very western / south western (not coastal western) in cultural attitudes. They also like guns.

We start letting west coast states go let’s not pretend coastal CA isn’t gone overnight which in the age of AI is a true and present threat to national security.

They can have the voters but we need that tech and at least one or two west coast deep water ports for trade and naval projection purposes.

Means we control the roads on either side. Can charge a crapload of fees to use it as a shortcut. Don’t like it then go around on the north side, good luck in winter they would need to call in Ice Road Truckers.

First Alberta, then western Canada, then Greenland, then eastern Canada, then…the Anglosphere. Get in losers, we’re saving western civilization!
