Much has already been said about the last several years in the fashion and advertising industries and how they embraced the “you are beautiful at any size” BS.

There’s a change that’s already happening to get away from this nonsense. The morbidly obese are not healthy and I think we are finally tired of enabling them with false agreement.

Just like the push back attack other woke BS we’ve been force fed for the last 4 years.

Funnily enough though, it seems to be one sided when it comes to the body positivity shite.

I was in Kohl’s yesterday to return some Amazon stuff and happen to notice that the mannequins in the women section were all different sizes none of them
We’re as skinny as the supermodel body type that was the standard for decades. And there were some real fatties sporting fatty sized cloths.

But only in the women’s section. I was curious so I checked out the men’s section and strangely, no fat mannequins. They were all fit, muscular sized. As they’ve always been.

I think that’s a good example of the double standard we live under when it comes to body image.

It also shows that men are less likely to lie to themselves, or seek to be lied to.

Men live in the harsh reality of the real world and accept it.

I dunno, dude... having to see what an actual size 14/16 looks like on a mannequin in the lady's section seems more realistic than the men's section having nothing but 'perfect' mannequins.

Both the male and female mannequins are there for the women. Guys don't look at that (other than to see the pattern) when buying clothes.

Are you talking to a therapist about your feelings on this?

I wonder if that with all of the body positivity shite we've seen in the last few years, did the obese people who embraced the movement actually think they were healthy and attractive? There's no way someone weighing 400 pounds thinks they are healthy.

While your post is true women are more fat than ever. Being a skinny woman automatically places you in the top 10% of all women.

Like many things, body positivity had some decent roots when it came to young girls. Models in the 90's were unhealthily skinny, had tons of eating disorders, etc. I remember people saying Jessica Simpson was plus sized in the Dukes of Hazzard movie.

Body positivity was supposed to make DOH women like J Simpson feel like they didn't need to be a rail to be beautiful but the fatties overtook it and here we are.

Yep. And while they started to include more plus size chicks, everyone knew they werent as hot. The models getting the gigs at the big shows in Paris were still rails.

Kohl’s is an Amazon drop off location. Do you live in the sticks or something?

Why would I! I’m a man.

Only soy boys and liberal women talk to therapists about something so mundane.

Like most “social justice” type trends, it was a good idea horribly executed because people always look for excuses for poor personal choices. Saying “hey, maybe fetishizing unhealthy body types isn’t a great idea and we should incorporate normal types” and “hey, mercilessly mocking overweight people is kinda shitty, so maybe we should stop doing that” aren’t bad ideas. But of course, that morphed into “no matter how overweight you are, you’re perfectly perfect and anyone who tells you otherwise is a hateful bigot”.
