Boomers are the wealthiest group and vote more than any other generation.

They also had a hand in raising every generation that came after them. So shouldn’t they be to blame for the US as it is today?
They talk about the country as it was when they grew up as if they’re the ones that built it. But the country they “built” is the one we have today.
I’m not trying to be full “Ok Boomer” or whatever. But the arrogance seems unearned. The postwar golden years were created by the Greatest Generation, hence why they had so many kids in the “Baby Boom” right? Am I missing something??

yes, you are missing a lot but you are not going to accept it so carry on blaming your patents for your issues.
The hate for boomers is one of the dumbest things that you have picked up from the media

Why would this surprise you? They also continued the path forward from the industrial revolution through WW2 to where we are today. Thank one.

I can't speak for every boomer but for me, ^^ This is true. For you others, save and invest and save and invest.

Oprah definitely had an effect on those who came after. Victimization is better than cash, these days.

What do you want to blame them for, specifically?

Shipping all US manufacturing jobs overseas? Macro and micro messaging and policies pushing younger generations to college.
How about the national freaking debt?

Mostly voted in by the greatest generation, those making up the majority off Congress in the 90s.

This isn’t a negative. The numbers don’t lie. People with college degrees generally have better outcomes than those who don’t.

This one makes more sense, it’s really ramped up as boomers took power in the early 2000s and beyond.

Jack Welch (CEO General Electric) started offshoring jobs in the 1970s.
Jack Welch, born 1935 - Greatest Generation, not Baby Boomer

Really doesn't get enough disdain for the damage his short sighted goals did to the way businesses are ran.

Jobs overseas - That started with Bush Sr. Those guys are profiteers. They've been around for millenia. Many of us didn't want to ship our jobs offshore.
Macro and micro messaging, what's that?
College - My parents expected me to go. The greatest generation wanted us educated. What's wrong with that? I do think it's too expensive and too many people go.
Debt started before us. I remember candy for a penny and a nickel coke as a child. You can blame the debt on stupid voters. They're the ones who fall for unpaid pork and handouts as proof that they have representation that's looking out for them.

Talk of “Greatest Generation” and “Boomers” is convenient shorthand, but it’s meaningless drivel. I’m a Boomer (barely), but my four kids are awesome. They were raised to be tough and they are tough. They got out of college and immediately assumed responsibility for themselves and eventually their families. Individuals are responsible for what they do; they are not responsible for what other people, who happen to be their age, did. That is collectivist thinking and very un-American.

I’d be right at the end of the boomer range, and I didn’t build this country, but no, it’s not the same country today as the one I grew up in.
And no, I was never for the wokeness, gay marriage, trans fiasco, taking God out of life and society, etc. Most of the problems we have now have a spiritual or moral root more than anything else.

Didn’t the “Greatest Generation” raise them?

In what period of history has the oldest living generation NOT been the most wealthy? Accumulating wealth takes time.
The reason things are screwed up is that younger people vote like idiots until they get older and have assets to protect. Do you think it’s Boomers voting for these young socialists? People without things vote for free stuff.

Oh we should thank them for not reversing the industrial revolution? Great job guys. You defeated the idealogy of Ezra Pound.
I'll tell you the reason why so many younger generations hate boomers. It's because so many boomers have displayed a Machiavellian attitude to gain their power and fortunes. That is the society yall have created. Lie, cheat, and steal to get what you want. Your divorce rates are high as frick. Your corruption rates are extreme. It's an ugly world that yall normalized. Yall took the momentum of WW2 and elected a government that thought it meant that because your parents saved the world from the nazis that you were righteous in whatever you chose to do. Just years and years of wars and debt.
And yes, that is a gross generalization. But that is how a lot of people feel about boomers these days. It is certainly not true of all of them, or even most. But I see it at every level of government; local, state, federal. Yall run and elect morons and assholes that dont get anything done except make themselves rich.

But some of these dingle bears think that old John, living down Walker south rd. in a $3k trailer shipped jobs overseas, because he is a boomer.
What an odd thought. "I will start a thread to announce to the world that I am a fricking idiot."
