European companies will take the same steps Japan automakers have. They immediately reduced their wholesale price to US importers, so the wholesalers could pay the tariff without affecting their margins or the price to the consumer. Its why inflation continues to drop even with tariffs, all while bringing home jobs and collecting 100s of billions in the process.

I am curious how much a 15% trade tariff with the EU will generate…
Quick back of the napkin of the 600-700 billion to the US is about $100B annually, plus everything on top.
It is possible when this is all done that we will be looking at 250-500B initially, which could be used directly for the debt….

What Europe signed was a deal for us to keep protecting them if Russia tries to move further West. No more being the world police, without being compensated for it.

Was listening to Musk at the rollout of the Grok4 press release, and it sounds like what is coming from this extraordinary increase in Knowledge will affect our economy and culture in ways that we can hardly imagine. Elon can, and for sure informed Trump of what these profound effects will bring. That is why Trump is going all in on AI and really don't care about the Debt/Deficit now.
Trump is playing ten years out, and the whole economic table will be overturned and reordered. Competing and holding the power of AI will determine the relative prosperity of a Nation.
That is the optimistic version; Elon also said that he was somewhat "terrified" in regard to the quickness of AI's advance. And what that could mean for a flawed and inferior group of 'competing'/controlling sentient Entities. I.e., Humanity.
It's fixing to get crazy.
Side point: Listening to Beck on this subject and very soon, AI will be able to make an ENTIRE Movie, from script, to screen to market with virtually zero human input. And very fast. Looks like Hollywood's run is over.

As AI is way above my skill set this form of future in everyday use won’t be easy for over half the population for at least a generation. The powers to be have worked hard in dumbing down the society( think of democrats) and most of every urban area is heavily underemployed & incompetent for skills above chicken frying or house cleaning. Everyday life will mostly stay the same there
