After having dozens of MRIs I never had any idea the machines were always on but why does a 60 year old man have a 20 pound chain around his neck? It was a 20 pound heavy chain? I have never even seen that at the gym.

We were sure it was a weighted walking vest but apparently it was in fact a big 20 pound chain. Seriously WTF ?

It didn't just suck him in. It twisted and turned. Must have been gruesome.

I know it, but I don't think I should say it.

Never been in a gear-infested gym before I see.

He was likely trying to show these fools that he’s worth somethin’. It’s a common practice in some cultures.

I don’t understand everytime I’ve had a mri I simply remove everything metal and then the tech checks anyway
How could anyone think wearing a chain was ok???

I have to admit having an MRI is somewhat terrifying to me. This mechanical mitral valve in my heart is metal. I have a card I have to keep in my wallet that gives instructions to the MRI tech the procedure to follow to not rip this valve out of my chest. But still, the thought that all it takes to kill me is the wrong button is pushed or the dial is turned not exactly right is quite disconcerting.

Thankfully, I’ve only had to have one MRI since I got this thing almost nine years ago now.

Your valve is almost certainly titanium, and not magnetic.

I have screws in both knees, same deal, not magnetic.
