Have not been there in a really long time, but had to go today to go to a specific store for something and parked on the wrong side of the mall, so I had to walk through the whole thing.

My first impression was that the whole mall is in a terrible need of a total makeover.

Secondly, I felt like I was in a foreign country. It was strange, full of foreigners, vast majority Hispanic, but lots of other nationalities. We really have been overrun by the unfettered immigration policies of the past few years.

The last time I felt like this was once when I was on Fremont Street in Las Vegas, after 10 pm.

The other time I felt like this was when I had to spend 2 days in Laredo, Texas.

Weird. Every time i go to the mall it’s pretty much normal. Not ghetto or foreign really at all for the most part.

I’m not scared of minorities though.

Mall seems normal when I go. Which is to say miserable because I fricking hate malls. Always have. Hate the parking. Hate the crowds. Hate shopping and spending money for shite I don’t need.

I don't go to our big mall anymore... they put in bus stops by it and crime and shenanigans, including shootings and a death or two have since happened.

I hate bus stops.

This. The last time I went to the mall was in May 2023 and I only remember this because the SEC baseball tournament was going on. Someone I was with had to go to lens crafter. Their appointment took longer than expected so we went to.. I forget the name.. The wings place that I think is closed now... That place was horrible, but I was out in the middle of the mall reading for a little while and the foot traffic wasn't a lot, but steady. It was just people shopping.

There were some who would go into a store, come out with a purchase and go back in the direction they came from, some people just browsing stores. Steady traffic at the food spot. If I recall, at certain times the mall doesn't allow minors to be there without adults. I am sure that helps keep the riff raff away. People act like its a horrible place. Its not that bad.

That mall just had terrible timing when it was built. It opened when I was at LSU in the late 90s IIRC, so it only had a good 7-10 year or so run before malls started becoming way less popular.
