On July 11,2025, U.S. Senator Bill Cassidy, M.D. (R-LA), announced that he raised $2.1 million in the second quarter of 2025, his largest single-quarter haul this cycle. With $9 million cash on hand, Cassidy now holds the largest war chest of any Louisiana Senate candidate at this point in the cycle.

Cassidy is a shoe-in for re-election. Has all the money and a R behind the name. That's all those south Louisiana coonarses care about when voting.

North Louisana rednecks are no better. Cassidy will win or else the other candidates will split the traditional conservative vote and allow John Bel Edwards to become the next U.S. Senator from Louisiana.

it's a shame you feel so defeated before the race even begins. i was hoping Trump getting shot in the face and bouncing back like a boss would make you people stronger.

How much of that is indicative of his support in the state vs outside donors though?

His campaign is getting hammered on social media posts by Louisiana voters across all kinds of demographics calling him out on his bullshite and trying to pretend now that he’s towing the Trump line. A bit anecdotal I know but there’s still something to be said from it happening.

That count could give me 9 million and I still wouldn't vote for him

That money won't vote and I bet 90% of that money is from out of state donors. He's beatable. I think Garrett Graves could beat him and JBE.

South Louisiana gave us Blanco, Jindal, JBE, Landry, Kennedy. and Cassidy. They'll give Cassidy another 6 year term.

I don’t like Cassidy but I dislike democrat JBE a lot more. Easy choice if it comes down to them.

How much money did Jeb Bush have when he ran against Trump for the 2016 Republican primary campaign? Remember how that worked out for him. Money doesn't equal votes. Period!
