We’re about to hit hour number three of packing and getting ready to leave for a four day trip. Was pulling out of the driveway when my wife realized she forgot something. She’s been back in the house for six minutes.

This is a “why are women like this” thread BTW.

Travel is vastly overrated.

Maybe she had to drop a deuce.

Pre pack everything in the house, in living room. Measure the space to match in vehicle space

Then just transfer

This is amateur hour shite. Pack the night before. Use a checklist. Tell your wife for every time she has to go back inside for something she forgot you’re cancelling a bathroom break.

We get everything packed the night before except what we'll need in the morning. Also leave at 4 a.m.

There's no walmart where y'all are going?

I agree with the checklist and packing most items the night before.

Don't sweat forgotten items- you can do without or purchase upon arrival.

We made the mistake of not packing beforehand for our beach trip a couple weeks ago. Family of 4, vacationing for a week. It took like 3 hours, and the drive afterwards was miserable. On the way back we packed up the night before and left at 6am. Easy ride.

ETA: my wife also did forget something and made us turn around about a mile down the road.

Pack the kids stuff 2 days in advance
Pack all non cold things the night before.
Cold stuff that’s going is organized on 1 shelf in the fridge.
Check list of day of things that are packed last minute.
Still takes an hour to load the car and get 4 kids to pee and find their shite

My anxiety wouldn’t let my arse pack the day of (exception being “checking” the in car travel bag). We’re packed at least a couple days before.

The fiancé likes to pack night before/day of. But I still have a list of shite to make sure he gets it all.

A lot of traveling for AAU games. Family of 6 and we usually stay in airbnb. Packing clothes and food is miserable every time. Unloading when getting home is worse!

My wife makes checklists and packs like a week in advance. I just load everything up the day of.

We are about to take my 12 year old to camp for 2 weeks and she has barely had any clothes for the last week because my wife packed her a week ago

Not nearly as quick as unpacking.

Takes me about 30 minutes. Takes my wife about 2 hours for each day we will be gone. That's for domestic trips only. More for overseas.

She always wants to go in the truck because, with the tonneau cover and back seat, she can just include everything she can think she might need instead of making decisions.

On one three-week trip out west. We drove to St. Louis and then realized that our daughter's suitcase was back at the house, at the top of the stairs.

I only worry about my own stuff (about 5 minutes), any electronics (all located in 1 spot), and food/ice chest items (another 10 minutes).
Wife deals with her and the kids stuff. Last time I helped with the kids, she had anxiety that we forgot everything unpacked; so we agreed that was her job.

I pack the car before it’s time to go, 30-45 minutes if it’s just interior and hitch; another 30 minutes if I have to do the overhead cargo

That’s absolutely ridiculous. I’m a woman with 1 child and 10 minutes tops.
