What would you think of a bill that cancelled corporations buying homes, and 1 home limit?

The owner of my company was talking about how he owns 5 homes and rents them out. I couldn't help but want to say, you are part of the problem for high housing prices. Blackrock owning many homes is part of the problem. I'm curious if you, yourself, or majority of Americans would support a bill not allowing corporations to buy US homes, not allow other countries like China buying US homes, and limit to 1 home per individual. I don't think anyone needs to own more than 1 home, and in the rare case you do, put it under wife's name, but owning 40 homes and renting them out for outrageous prices is what is causing this issue. I would support this as it'd help lower prices. I feel this along with reducing zoning restrictions and ignoring NIMBYs is the answer.

I don't think anyone needs to own more than 1 car. People buying multiple cars is what keeps car prices high

I don't think anyone needs to own more than 1 home. It's simply not neccesary. I realize that this would be potentially against capitalism, but your average person doesn't have what it takes to buy a home today. Desperate times call for desperate measures.

Cars cost less than 10% of homes. It is not the same.

How would this work with mortgage agreements?

Hmmmm interesting. So where are people going to live that can't afford to buy a home but want to rent one? Force them into apartment complexes?

I know I am not going to rent out my only home when I am only allowed to own one.

frick yeah! Regulate me harder, daddy!

Let's hire an additional 7k-10k government drones to monitor the population just to make sure no one dares to own more private property than daddy says is ok while we're at it!

Fine I’ll just buy up all the vacant land and sit on it because you can’t build on it thus expansion will be confined to small parts of the US and the prices will continually increase in value thus out pricing everyone for single family homes given the population increases each year.

My goal is 25 units to retire at 50. I have 5 years left to get there but your thread and attitude inspired me to not stop at 25 houses

Corporate home ownership should be discouraged through taxes, but not illegal.

As for private ownership, what are you going to do, force Americans to sell their homes? Some of us have several rental properties.
