Driving from MN to TN today. Will already be arriving past midnight, so any stops need to be hit and run.

Will pass a Buc-ee’s in Richmond, Ky at about 9:30. Is the brisket sandwich worth a stop for a Texan who lives in the culinary wasteland of northern Minnesota and whose standards have slipped precipitously?

ETA: I have no doubt there are better options. I have a time constraint to work around, though, and that is the crux of the query.

Yeah man it's pretty tasty for gas station brisket.

It’s as good or better than any fast food you’d be eating

Online reviews are indicating that the sauce is the biggest drawback. Too sweet. I hate sweet.

I happen to be packing my own homemade version, made just last night. Heavy on pepper and vinegar.

Will be ordering sans sauce.

I've not seen that option. The sauce is mixed in.

Yes.
Especially if you have to go to the bathroom.

That's almost the definition of a Michelin one-star.

Not worth a detour, but worth a stop!

The brisket can differ from location to location. I've had it at four different locations and, in three locations, it was decent for gas station brisket. Once, I just threw it away. The sauce is too sweet for my tastes.

Personally, I'd stop and get a smoked turkey sandwich and add some pickles and onions. Or maybe a cheese steak burrito.

Brisket sandwhich aint all that. I like their breakfast burrito and selection of jerky. They have a good selection of jellys/jams and what not.

Did more reading.

Chopped? Looks like it is mixed in.

Sliced? Not, but still “required”.

Corporate policy (as of Jan 1) is absolutely no deviations from “grab and go” specs.

Honestly, that policy trumps any considerations of the product itself. When the hell did this place become a policy-centric corporate borg?

I’ll ask and see if they do it. If not, will walk away. I absolutely hate mindless corporate crap like this and refuse to enable it.

I’ve never done it but they have kiosks where you can order instead of g&g

Fill up your wagon, use a very clean restroom and get a decent sandwich. Yep, worth a stop. YW!
