If so, how was it? What’s the positives and the negatives?

It seems like South Louisiana except better roads, bridges, economy, etc.

The culture and climate are similar though.

Beaumont = Baton Rouge
Vidor = Denham Springs/Walker
Nederland = Ascension Parish

I stayed in Sulphur (not really any better) for a few months and thought that I was way too close to Beaumont.

Got family there. It's rough. Not as rough as Orange but, it's not where I'd want to live if I had a choice where to live in Texas

I love Texas and I pretty much despise most of LA now.

That said, I think I'd rather live in LA than Beaumont.

Take that FWIW

We don’t claim Beaumont. Feels like you’re still in Louisiana.

It's not the worst place in Texas (looking at you, Port Arthur) but it's pretty terrible and stagnant by TX standards. I'd probably take it over Alexandria or Monroe, but pretty much anywhere in Louisiana other than those two would be better than Beaumont.

I'm assuming you have an actual reason to want to move to Beaumont. If it's for work, then live in some place like Lumberton or Port Neches.

The only way anyone can consider Beaumont nice is if you are comparing it to Port Arthur.

Where are the nice roads in Beaumont that you speak of?

No one in Beaumont can make a roux or boil crawfish like my parrain so this is false.

I was born and raised in Beaumont but lived out in the sticks on my families farm. Left 23 years ago and I wouldn’t pick to live there but if I had a job opportunity that took me there I would probably go.

Hell I chose Baton Rouge over Tennessee and Florida back in 2011 to be closer to family, so my picker isn’t very good

Now I chose to live in Spring instead of the Woodlands.

To be honest I’ve enjoyed everywhere I have ever lived and I think it’s what you make of it. Good job and good friends can make up for a boring place.

Why is Beaumont worse than every other place in the U.S? Even worse than Louisiana?

If you're Catholic, they have one of the most beautiful cathedrals in Texas.
