With focus on cyber security at an all time high, is this the new corporate buzz word?

I reached out to our Tech officer and asked him to give me a Birds Eye view of our cyber hygiene. He looked confused….

Is the OT using this phrase in their offices? Talk to me.

Your tech officer needs to be replaced. Security Hygiene is old, just like "default deny," was used 20 years before zero trust was.

And the focus on cyber security is *not* at an all time high, it's the same as it's been for decades. I'm surprised you didn't know that, being in the office every day.

I marketed a cyber hygiene assessment at work almost 10 years ago. It didn't take. Guess I was ahead of my time.

No.

Hell, if I had to guess, half the people over the age of 40 still view porn on their work computer. The amount of people that connect to our work wifi on their private phones is insane. My boss thought I was a bit nuts that I won't connect to hotel wifis or that I will not connect my work phone to airplane wifi.

I don’t want to get into the weeds on cyber hygiene today, but we will need to reconvene in the coming weeks and put a strategy team framework in place and conduct a deep dive assessment of the cyber hygiene framework. The focus should center around pain points in the processes and how wins can be accomplished in a cross-departmental working environment that eliminates silos.

It is funny to walk out into the control room. I can tell the operators pucker up. If only they knew I didn’t give a shite.

I just thought it was funny we formed a cyber hygiene steering committee that reports up to the executive committee. I’m on the later and got an email about it this morning.

Loop me in with the slide deck of bulleted KPI’s in the Teams Invite.

I’m OOO dealing with the low hanging fruit that’s lost its synergy.

Ironically I use a lot of those words in daily work, but I actually follow up on what I do/say.
