Which Championship run was the more enjoyable, 2023 or 2025?

I have to give it to 2023. 2025, while great, seemed like it was almost pre-ordained. There just wasn't the same level of drama, probably due to all of the national seeds who didn't make it to Omaha and our final opponent being Coastal rather than Florida. 2023 was tooth and nail while with 2025 I felt we were gonna win it as soon as the teams were set for the CWS, even when briefly trailing ArKansas.

2023 was still more fun because of the threat of elimination.

2025 was really just a waiting game IMO. You could feel it

2025 was less expected, we had a good team but I would’ve understood if they fell a little short.

2023 was more stressful because we had a superteam and it felt like if we didn’t win we maybe wasted something — despite the fact that wake forest and Florida were also really good.

Also was’s jays first here so felt like there was more outside pressure

I think 23 was more intense feeling so I have to go with '23.

I feel like 2025 was more due to JJ's coaching and recruiting/transfer portal signings than was 2023. Both were great teams.

2023 was definitely more entertaining having to come out of the loser's bracket and the matchup with Skenes and Lowder was epic. The Tommy Tanks walk off. Plus it was LSU"s first baseball natty in so many years.

This postseason run was just total domination. The only time I truly felt nervous was when we lost to Little Rock and then were down 5-1 in the elimination game. I was frustrated with Arkansas going up 5-3 in their elimination game, but felt confident we could get the job done on Thursday but luckily Arkansas screwed that one up their selves.

2023 felt like watching Burrow, Chase, Jefferson, etc. You knew you were watching stars who would transcend the regional, niche world of college baseball.

2025 felt like watching the 2003 Saban LSU champions. Absolutely elite defense that proved levels better than any unit on any other team. Quality offense that stepped up in spots on the biggest stage.

Agreed

Those WF games were classics, got to send Tony V home, and tgot to pants O’Sullivan in a winner take all game. Just a great CWS run that will be tough to ever top

2023 IMO

We gave Tenn, Wake & UF both of their loses for elimination.

All 3 of those teams could have won it all. Like somebody else said, it was like 2019 football with the stars we had and the gauntlet we went through.

Yea, def 2023. The competition in 2025 just wasnt the same caliber. We were just that much better than everyone else.

See that’s how I feel/felt if you switched 23 and 25.

23 felt like the super team with just some hiccups in the losers bracket that we fought out of.

This year the team seemed promising but took a while to feel dominant but they got hot at the perfect time.

was talking to a buddy and decided 2025. There is some recency bias but idk this team just something about them. 2023 felt like Skenes and Crews show and we got a natty along the way. This team was so good top to bottom and took so many pieces. Brazzy couldnt hit but man without him on the corner...do we win? Playoff Milam catching fire everytime we needed him to, Curiel growing up and fast, the heroic complete game shutout when we needed one in a 1-0 game 1 will forever be a thing of legend. The arkansas rally to end us to the finals... all of it my God.

This team could have been like every other SEC team that got upset in regionals and laid down when we were down big to UALR, but they didn't they never did. Was just spectacular all the way through.

In addition to all the other reasons listed, i was way more emotionally attached to the players on the 2023 team. We watched guys like Dugas, Beloso, Thompson, Morgan, Floyd, and Crews battle for 3-5 years and continue to come up short. They stayed through injuries and coaching staff changes. Some of them slumped and struggled at times. Some were loved from day 1. And Crews talked so much about coming to LSU for the experience and I would've felt like LSU let him down if he didn't get a championship before he left.

That Wake Forest game a thriller and that 3rd Florida game was great for us.

But Arky game was legendary…

I mean its 23 and its not close. It was with a group of guys that had been around for awhile (Crews, Thompson, Morgan, Dugas, Beloso, Travinski) and we had watched grow for 3-4 years. It was the first one in 14 years. And it was done against 2 of the toughest teams in recent Omaha memory in Wake and Florida. Plus the whole facing elimination, bullpen stepping up when you needed them, skenes vs lowder, Tanks walk off. IMO that was the best college world series in history along with the most magical LSU CWS run in history and im still mad that i wasnt there. I still watch the documentary on youtube every now and then

25 felt like once we won that first one against Arkansas it was over. And i know alot of fans probably dont want to admit this but i do think the field was as weak as its been in awhile this year. That's not to diminish LSUs win. I think 25 will be remembered by maybe the best 1-2 punch in LSU history in Kade-Eyanson and also for the arkansas walk off

The 2025 run for me was more fun, but the 2023 Championship Series was more fun because I was there and we beat Florida.

2023 was more intense because it was clearly the best team we've had in a while and it was starting to feel like "if not now, when?" It was such a super team that anything less than Omaha would've been a serious let down. Plus Omaha was a freaking ride with those heavyweight battles with Wake Forrest and Florida. You could put any of the 3 Wake games and game 1 with Florida and put MLB jerseys on them and anybody would've called those classic games. Also, we had an absolute studs who were gonna be pros but just as many Louisiana guys who were playing their last games and had given 3-5 years to the program, made the bridge from Mainieri to Johnson, and we wanted a win for those guys so so badly.

2025 was so strange. It never felt like we were this dominant championship caliber team. It was like no team came out and said "we're those guys" and just took it. It feels more like we're the last team surviving instead of beating everyone else by being vastly superior to them.
