There’s a reason they led the country in HBP, by a lot

They’ve gotten away with and brag about the catchers “framing”

In my opinion they got away with intentionally interfering with our catcher throwing to second base…

Batter didn’t move and put his head down causing contact

Yes, I agree with this, I noticed it on a couple of instances. LSU also tried to do it but got caught. I did not like the call of HBP. I think if there is a dispute, it should not be a strike, it should be a non-pitch.

They’re just doing what it takes for them to win. They don’t have elite hitting talent, so they try to maximize output by creating opportunities. It’s common in college baseball and feels like the old west coast approach.

That approach doesn’t typically win it all, but it can get very far and be annoying to play.

Imagine stealing 225 strikes this year and getting tossed for whining about balls and strikes.

Re: HBP, they did not move away, but simply turned so the ball hit their arse rather than hip. Dumb rules and guidance, but they used it to advantage all year long. It is what it is.

When we beat Arkansas, I was looking forward to the series with Coastal. I thought they were a good program and a nice underdog story.

And within 3 days I had heard enough about them to dislike them. Between the dumb responses at pressers, the intentional HBPs, their whiny arse coach, and then the lack of accountability from the head coach, and a shitty response put out from the school admin, they may forever be on my shite list in all sports.

I felt really bad for Arkansas players when they lost, as much as I dislike their coach. It made my heart swell to see the Coastal players so dejected and they aren't even in our conference.

I don't think I've witnessed a more unlikeable baseball team. Tennessee is close.

That program can get fricked.

This. They are playing the odds.

I doubt coaches are asking for reviews of HBPs too often in the regular season and burning challenges.

It's not cheating, it's strategy. Everyone is going to push the limits, especially teams with less firepower. Jordan being far back in the coach's box, even if only to get in the pitcher's head, is the same thing.

Sometimes if you're pushing it to the limits, you get burned.

The call on Bras was 100% correct.

You can get away with that in the Sun Belt and their shitty umpires. Hell, you can probably get away with it with more than half of the SEC umpires, but any decent umpire won't fall for that shite.

Many base coaches do this, especially with a strong hitter at the plate. The Tennessee first base coach was almost in RF when they came to BR. Bonine said after the game that he wasn't aware of any issue with Jordan at third. He said Morrison was talking to the ump about the pitch com issues.

I would bet a few bucks that the umps pay enough attention to media to have been aware of that graph and were of the mindset....he's does this a lot and we are aware of it and will not let him fool us.

Either actually saw the graph or were made aware of it. IMO I bet they felt it was basically a slap in the face.

Another point of the graph....that is just one team, now multiply that by the number of teams playing D1 BB and it really drives home just how bad the majority of CBB umps are.

Masters of HBP then demand a challenge when LSU was HBP and get it overturned. Pathetic.

Pretty sure it’s not reviewable.
