It’s not that hard guys.

Braswell handles this interview about as well as you can. He didn’t know how long their win streak is offhand, but oh well.

Give respect. Keep it generic. Move on.

Agreed. I don’t know why reporters ask questions like that, however, he gave the wrong answer.

It’s not hard to be respectful and not become a news story. Most LSU fans wouldn’t have even known there was a press conference if it weren’t for his dumb answer.

While I agree they didn’t necessarily say anything wrong… it’s a standard/normal/expected question in any matchup…. Basically… “what do you think about the other team ?”

It’s a question that gets asked in basically every press conference in every sport in some form or fashion. And it’s easy to answer without causing a stir.

I would be more surprised if reporters didn’t ask a question about thoughts on the other team leading up to a big game

You don’t belong here with your post history dogging Johnson. Go listen to Johnson’s press conference and CC.
Stop hating on Johnson and this team. We know you’re an Aggie, Tenner or USL fan.

A) yes, it was a stupid question.
B) it was a bad answer that brought unnecessary scrutiny on that pitcher and their team. Anyone recall, “it feels like, who can beat us? It seems impossible.”

Coaches used to teach players to respect their opponents. In Tony Vitello’s world of college baseball we are supposed to hate our opponent and belittle them at every chance. I don’t agree with that philosophy, and neither does Jay Johnson.

I think their jobs are really needed and they ask questions like this to be different in an overly crowded field.

“As a player and a fan of the sport, I’m impressed with their ability to remain calm and composed in the face of adversity in order to play ball until they win. This weekend is going to be fun, challenging, and a great display of the game between this year’s two top-tier programs. I think I can speak for the whole program when I say I’m looking forward to the series.”

Something like that would’ve been professional and garnered respect. But instead, he went full retard and gave LSU more motivation.

It was a boneheaded response to a dumb question. It’s not hard to say “They’re a historically great program, but we’re just focused on us” or something similar.

Isn’t Vitello surprisingly consistent in his respect for opponents in press conferences? I’ve admittedly only seen a few of them
