Coach Jay got a ‘225’ phone number so when he called Recruits there would be no confusion

His personal Cell phone has a San Diego area code but he insisted on getting one for the deuce & the quarter..
committed to the game. I know plenty of professionals require 2 phones but him going the extra mile really shows his attention to detail.. what a gem.

This doesn't really seem like a huge deal.

Pretty sure most coaches in all sports do the same thing.

Right, it's not like he got a 225 face tat.

I am pretty sure that LSU requires coaches to use an LSU phone so that they can report on recruiting contacts for NCAA compliance. This was an issue in the past with some coaches having “burner phones “.

it would be fun if someone made a super lip of all the players who were “the first player/recruit” he called when the got the job

dude is a madman and probably
made 70 calls as soon as he got the job.

I think the whole point of this thread was that the OP could use the phrase "the deuce & a quarter"...

22 and a nickel sounds better, imo.

For NCAA compliance purposes, it probably wasn't really even his choice. His wife probably told him that.
