I was watching from the 3rd base line, an Arkansas staffer was trying to console him. Curiel saw him absolutely distraught and walked over to give him any kind of consolation before any of his own Arkansas teammates even got there.

Derek Curiel is hands down my favorite freshman ever on this team, yes he is a tremendous player, but it’s so much more than that.

Jay always talks about his players being a better person than they are a player, I believe it.

Curiel is a walking talking living example of glorifying God and showing what it looks like. Thank you for representing this team in all the right ways!!

You mean you don't want a Root acting like a dickhead all the time on the team?

That’s great he did that. I really do feel bad for Van Horn and Ark players. If they were playing anyone but LSU I would’ve been cheering for them. Van Horn is a great coach that just seems cursed at winning a title. He’s been so close and the craziest things happen to knock him out.

watch DC in the outfield, you will constantly see him praying out there. He is a really impressive young man to listen to and watch.

The LF's missed catch will get magnified the most, but the mental mistakes by the 1B and SS were far more egregious. That wasn't an easy play to make on Luis' liner. If he had to do it over again, he'd probably just keep the ball in front of him and give up just the one run.

I appreciated their catcher trying to save Josh Pearson's life yesterday.

Mental lapse by SS cost them the game. That was a pretty routine DP ball.

From T-ball you are taught to be thinking about if it is hit to me hard where do I go, slow where do I go, if its hit here or there what is my responsibility.

Dude just got caught up in the moment and now we get to relax tonight.

That’s cool. I didn’t see that on the broadcast.

As much as I like winning and cheering after big wins, I hate to see when people poor their hearts out and come up on the losing side, unless you acted like a dick. So, good for Curiel.

Yeah. He was solid behind the plate and has good instincts.

Wished someone had video of that interaction as that is what competing at the highest level and respecting your opponent is all about.

Great maturity shown by Curiel.
