Trying real hard to put their political BS aside and just continue to love them but it’s getting harder and harder. I love them dearly and they were awesome parents but they are becoming such radical leftist that I am struggling. They listen to Maddow nightly.

I steer clear of political discussions when I am with them but they always eventually go there. I keep a neutral tone but it takes all that I can to just keep my mouth shut.

They are both in their 90s so I know they are not long for this world and I am thankful they are still with me. So I try not to rock the boat.

Just venting here so thanks for allowing me to rant.

If they're in their 90s cut them some slack and don't worry about it

No offense to your folks but that’s kinda what happens to old people. It’s why they’re so easy to scam. They believe pretty much anything the tv or telephone tells them.

But if you grew up and came of age in a time prior to the internet and the media age… how does one come to believe anything “it” says?

You sound like a good son and I think when they are gone you will be grateful that you were patient and respectful with them in their old age

In the same boat with my parents.....the are in their 80's now but they despise Trump and simply refused to vote for him.

My cousin was probably out protesting today. The epitome of the over educated white liberal woman. She led a contingent to the Pussy Hat March in DC

Tell them you agree that King Charles is a douchebag who is not welcome in America.

Sneak into their TV, use the child TV protection and block MSNBC, CNN, and all the others.

Wait, they actually attended? The nursing home allows this?

I know. I try. If they would just stop bringing up political BS every time we are together it would be much easier.

I’ll try my best to steer away from political discussion tomorrow on Father’s Day but I have a bad feeling that today’s rally will enter the conversations.

That’s tough. Sorry they’ve twisted off and to Never Neverland. Where do they live? They’ve clearly been influenced by idiots around them.

That's got to be tough but remaining respectful is key. I have close friends on the left, we avoid political discussion
