I’ve already entered the era of thinking all videos might be AI-generated, and I don’t know how to feel about it. Feels like we are approaching a choice where we either just disconnect and stop paying attention or …. Well I don’t know the other choice.

We have bases all over the solar system (including Mars, the Moon, and Triton) and a deep space fleet on par with our blue water navy. There are a lot of military personnel outside of Earth’s atmosphere.
As for why the moon? Well, it’s used for a variety of reasons. The moon is a great source for hydrogen starship fuel as well as several different metals used in assembling our capital ships. The moon is used as a mining facility, shipyard, and has weapons platforms for defense against collisions with Near Earth Objects.
