I prefer Blue Runner Red Beans to fresh red beans and it’s not even close. I go:

1 lb sausage
1 onion
1 bell pepper
1 can Original
1 can New Orleans Spicy

Brown veggies, brown sausage, add beans and a little water to clean the cans, boil to desired consistency.

I’ve eaten red beans a thousand times all over the state and I haven’t tasted any that I prefer to this simple recipe that may take 40 minutes.

I need to remember that. RBR is not my favorite dish to make, but I occasionally do like to eat it. I like super mushy beans of all types- Lima, black eyed peas, red beans, etc

ETA: Taco Soup is basically all from a can except the ground beef. It’s a winter staple in our house. Vegetable soup, too- I prefer frozen vegetables to canned, but V8, beef broth, diced onion & celery, frozen corn, limas, green beans & peas. Saute onion/celery, then dump and simmer.

The scene:

You woke at 4am to have the boat in the water by 7am. You've fished all day and thrown back a few white cans. It's now 1:30 and you're 40 minutes from the boat ramp, half sunburnt, with a mess of fish.

The meal:

A can of Vienna Sausage and a pack of cheese crackers that tastes like A5 Kobe beef.

Right now, it's Manwich Bold. I like that it has more tang than the original.
My all-time favorite, though, was Big John's beans and Fixins with ground beef over rice.

Similar to RBR: white beans

3 cans of white beans
1 pound of sausage
1 can diced tomatoes with green chilis

Brown sausage and remove from pot
Add one can of beans and use immersion blender to purée beans
Add stock to desired level
Add two remaining cans of white beans, sausage, and chilis back to pot
Simmer while corn bread is in oven

Salmon patties leaped to mind. But taco soup is a good one.

Ha. I just bought a 4-pack to add to hurricane prep. If I don’t need it, I’ll heat it and add pepper and parm cheese and done.

Hormel chili (with beans) on camping trips used to be a staple of mine. Swiss army knife can opener, set it next to the camp fire for 15 minutes to warm up, devour straight out of the can. Shitty chili from a can never tasted so good as being tired and worn out in the middle of the woods after a long day hiking and fishing in the N GA mountains.

Super easy Brunswick Stew recipe from a can. Surprisingly good. I will leave out the white meat chicken and throw in some pulled pork instead.

1 (10 1/2 ounce) can Castleberry barbecued beef
• 1 (10 1/2 ounce) can Castleberry barbecued pork
• 1 (10 ounce) can White meat chicken
Produce
• 1 (15 1/4 ounce) can Corn, whole kernel
• 1 (15 1/4 ounce) can Creamed corn
• 2 (16 ounce) cans Tomatoes, stewed

I probably eat more canned tuna than anything else that comes from a can as far as something I'd consider from the can, add a few things to it and make a meal out of it.

When I was a kid, my mother would just take massive chicken breast and cover them with cans of Rotel tomatoes and some Velveeta cheese, pop it in the oven for 30 minutes, shite was delicious
