It's Hurricane Season. Is the Cajun Navy Still a Thing?

I know in previous hurricanes and flood events these guys drove the left wingers in New Orleans where I live batshit insane. They couldn't stand seeing the optics of their mortal enemies (redneck white guys with bass boats, trucker hats, skoal rings on their jeans, etc.) doing good and saving vulnerable people, especially minorities.

I hope for everyone's sake they are stocked up on fuel and supplies. I want to see progressive rage on Reddit and elsewhere when a positive rescue picture comes out and progressives start whining about boat registrations and interfering with official local government entities.

I don't know anything about how the Cajun Navy is organized, but based on the reports I have read, they are heroes and folks in Louisiana should be proud of them.

It should've stayed this instead of becoming commercialized and corrupt.

OP, you should consult a professional about your issues in viewing your world in such black and white terms when there are a million different colors in existence.

You were 24, out of college and dating 16 year old sophomore high school girls? I guess that's one of those different colors.

Stop depending on people to help you. Help yourself.

Don’t buy in an area that’s flooded before
Don’t buy in an area threatened by hurricanes
Cut down all trees threatening your house
Don’t live in tornado alley.

BE RISK ADVERSE! Dammit people, stop crying to the government, insurance companies, or other people to take care of you. Make better decisions.

I watched the new Peter Santenello video in North Carolina on YouTube yesterday and he was with someone from the United Cajun Navy. They seem to be still doing a lot of work up there.
