“lol, you still care about baseball?” -a couple retards on the MSB

The sport is in a great place (unless you’re a Rockies fan)

Shitting on baseball has been a cottage industry for the edgy too-cool-for-school types since the inception of the interwebs. Yet, it just keeps rolling along.

Wonder if they're picking up viewers that have abandoned the NBA

Why do we care about the viewership in Japan?

Cubs, Mets, Yankees, Dodgers all in first place in their divisions probably has more to do with this than anything else. Thats 4 of the largest markets drawing in more of their casual bandwagon fans than if they were bad.

These are also probably the teams on national tv most often so far this year

I guess this is exactly why the MLB was more than happy to have Ohtani’s interpreter be the sacrificial lamb.

It was never dying - it's just been a regional, I watch my favorite team sport for a good while now.

Good to see some uptick nationally, but it's still that for the most part and I'm fine with that. I would say the pitch clock has made it much less challenging to watch when you have no skin in the game Re: your team's not playing.

Exactly right, anyone who says Ohtani wasn’t involved is either naive or intellectually dishonest.

And the white new balance posters on this board talk about the downfall of the nba even though its viewership is also up

I'm a sports junkie and haven't watched 2 minutes of baseball this year.

I just can't get excited about "one" game when they play 162

Got MLB network for the cubs mainly, but def have been watching other teams more and more. Couldn’t tell you the last time I watched an nba game or a full nfl game. Not that I have any vendetta against the nfl/nba, just lost interest.

Baseball is still baseball. Go watch Sandlot, take in the Americana, and order MLB.tv

We watch MLB and Bluey at my house, and that’s pretty much it lately.

MLB is better when the Chicago Cubs are good. There is no longer any disputing that.

You guys do you, but I hate that we have MLB fan bases with significant portions created by two cable stations from the 80’s.
