Why are pharmacy drive throughs so difficult for people? Prescription gets ordered, filled, they tell you it’s ready, you drive through and pick it up. If you can’t pay or have questions, go inside.

I just go inside regardless. I always assume the drive through will take longer due to incompetence.

The problem are the dickheads who think they are the most important person and won’t move until you do theirs immediately

It’s a part of this main character culture where they won’t pull back around or park in the parking lot for a few minutes as the already overworked staff hustles and tries to do it quickly

Had to call the cops on so many arseholes over the years because they refuse to move thus causing the line to be never ending

When I have a customer that says they won’t pull around I ask them where they want their meds transferred to, because I won’t fill them. Park out front or pull around when we call you.

90% of people are stupid enough to let themselves get sick enough they need prescriptions. They can’t keep themselves in order and you think they can operate in society?

One issue is when they tell you it’s ready that doesn’t always mean it’s ready for pickup. A lot of times when I have to grab some antibiotics for my son and I go to pick it up they still have to mix it up before giving it to me. It’s not as quick and simple as me telling them and them handing it to me.

But I do always go inside unless the drive thru line is absolutely empty.

This is the way, except on the rate occasion there is no one in the drive thru

My podunk independent pharmacy delivers. They charge me a $3 convenience fee for it. Whenever I need my prescriptions refilled they will call me and ask if they can contact my doctor for me and then it will be delivered the next day.

That's a new one on me, but it fits.

I dread getting in line at the drugstore behind some woman who refuses to accept that her coupons are expired and refuses to leave.

Ask them if they can grab you a loaf of bread real quick, too, while they're at it.

Pretty much this. We never catered to asshats in the drive. Most of them that are causing the problems are having issues with THEIR insurance company and want you to fix it while they sit in the drive holding up a car line...they don't care. My favorite is when someone is stuck behind someone that refuses to come in or drive around and the person behind them gets out of the car and threatens them lol. We always look the other way when customer on customer confrontations happen. Glad I'm out of all that nonsense.

^This

Also, people are too dumb to use technology. Almost every pharmacy in existence has some sort of messaging system that sends you notifications about your prescriptions. People will get a message about an insurance reject, then show up to the pharmacy and bitch when their meds aren't ready. Most of those conversations tend to happen in the drive through line, because someone too lazy to read a text, is certainly not getting out of their vehicle.
