If you dropped the current Colorado Rockies into the CWS how would they do?

Rockies are currently 9-50, worst start in professional baseball since 1871.

So, would they win the CWS if dropped into it this year?

They would sweep the field with blowout wins. Maybe one or two games would be within 3-4 runs on an off day by hitting.

I'm very very very far from a baseball expert but I have to imagine they would absolutely crush every team in the CWS, just like when this question is asked in every single sport

They would win the whole thing, but I don’t think every single game would be a blowout.

They may drop a game because that's baseball, but they would overwhelmingly run rule most games by the 4th inning.

I'm thinking the gap in talent for a Major League team vs your Top 8 college baseball teams is likely much larger than a NFL team vs. Top 8 college football teams.

The NFL doesn't do an initial sweep of players graduating high school like MLB does. Not all your MLB talent plays college ball, but all your NFL does for what...at least two years?

Without question. LSU's pitching for example falls off a cliff after our first two guys. The Rockies have a team of pros

Baseball is the one sport where a team with far inferior talent can win on any given day. A while ago, a community college beat an MLB split squad during a spring training game.

They wouldn't lose a game, and likely wouldn't be scored on in any game.

While you are correct, there are many instances of regular college teams staying with and even beating professional teams. Now these are scrimmages so if the stakes are raised it could turn out different. Baseball is different and not like football where you just out physical someone who doesn’t stand a chance.

Imagine the college teams being forced to use wood bats…or even scarier, a pro team, even one as bad as the Rockies, with aluminum bats.

I remember years ago one of the local radio stations had Jared Mitchell on a year or two after he was drafted. He was playing AA ball at the time I think and the host, not sure if it was Buddy Songy or Jordy or who exactly it was at the time but they said that they heard AA ball was about the equivalent of college baseball. Jared literally laughed out loud.....said not even close....maybe a big time SEC game with top line Friday night starters might be close otherwise no.

Rockies would dominate.

They are all MLB players.

So I would pick them.

Professionals with metal bats vs college pitching?

You might see the first ever decapitation by line drive.

Better question is how they'd fare against the top AAA teams.

Same as the Texas Longhorns men would do if you dropped them into the women's college world series....

Back when professional football was a part time job.

The modern teams would murder any college team.
