I just got back from Rouses and was looking to buy the 39 oz. can of CDM Coffee & Chicory but all they had were the 13 oz. vacuum sealed bags.

Sticker shock when I saw that small bag was selling for damn near $10 and that would put the 39 oz. can in the area of $28+. I bought a 39 oz. can just over a month ago and it was $17.

Hell of an increase in such a short time span.

I just load up when Rouse's does their Community sale. When bags are less than $5 I'll get a ton of whole bean bags and it'll last till the next sale.

I agree regular pricing is stupid right now.

Publix usually has something on 2for1. I used to be brand loyal but the prices are bonkers now so I buy whatever is half off.

Coffee futures have dropped 13% over the past month but are still up over 50% from a year ago.

Trader Joe’s had some Colombian whole bean roasted a week ago last week for I think $10.99 (maybe $12.99 but for sure no more than that) that was very solid. A bag of French Truck is now $15.99 or more.

Going to get to the point where we’ll be roasting chicory roots like the old South used to!

Tariffs on coffee have to be about the dumbest thing imaginable. That’s not something we are producing domestically in any significant quantity, let alone quality.

"Tariffs" is the new "Covid" as an excuse for businesses to frick people.

What coffee producing countries exporting to the US have had new tariffs placed upon them, and what are those tariffs? 10%? 100%? a million percent?

Facts don't matter. "Tariffs" is in the zeitgeist so it's an excuse to frick customers.

Tariffs can make a pound of beans be a dollar or two more, perhaps, not prices doubling.

Anyone blaming this on tariffs needs to bring facts, not emotions or tweets or npr snips.

Or I'll have you thrown into the gulag.

When it comes to coffee I agree with you. Warnings were being given many months ago about the poor crop yield in South America. It's not tariffs it's just climate change

Community 1lb bags were $6.99 today in the store. They run sales lower than that. It can be almost $10 on occasion.
