Seton Hall pitcher tells horrifying tale of brutal hazing at renowned baseball program, which allegedly included beatings, forced sex acts
quote:
A makeshift wrestling ring had been erected by the 17-year-old’s teammates — who were about to force him to undergo a sick hazing ritual in which he had to do battle with a much larger and older player.
As his teammates watched, the teen was choked, dragged and body slammed onto his back — then left “spitting blood” in a beating so brutal it dashed his dream of becoming a professional baseball player, he claimed to The Post in an exclusive interview.
quote:
The teen was then subjected to a twisted team masturbation ritual and other humiliating hazing incidents while head coach Rob Sheppard allegedly looked the other way, according to a shocking new federal lawsuit.
quote:
Days later, a sophomore on the team inside the locker room said that the player had to show everyone his genitals, the lawsuit states. “We’ve got to see what you’ve got down there,” the older player told the then-17-year-old, his suit alleges. “The locker room erupted in laughter,” the suit says, as he complied.
quote:
A sicko code-worded ritual came next: a masturbation exhibition called “Lotus,” where a player would lie on the locker room floor and “manipulate his genitals” while others watched and cheered, the suit claims. “One day in the locker room, I came in and they got everyone ready to do this ‘Lotus’ to this kid, and they had him lay down butt naked in the middle of the locker room and touch himself,” he said.

He can go ahead and prove all that, then.

Yall have never done the lotus before?

Seton Hall baseball? LOL, I didn’t know they had a team.

This is terrible leadership by coaches and players. No hindsight to also see that this wasn’t going under the rug either

If true, that’s disturbing.
Say what now?

The bombshell suit alleges the program — which has produced Major League all-stars like the Mets’ Mo Vaughn and the Astros’ Craig Biggio —
These are two names I haven’t heard in a while. Too bad they didn’t get a quote from Mo about swinging his crank around the locker room.

Just an all around weird situation

Did this kind of hazing happen before the internet became such a twisted place?

Sir, Tigerdroppings had NOTHING to do with this

I’m as against hazing as one can possibly be. And I’d think long and hard about ruining those guy’s lives if they did this to me.
But that passage above makes me think this dude is sketchy as hell.

The only part in quotes is "spitting blood"
That means the rest is just whoever wrote the articles interpretation.
The writer probably wants make to it as dramatic as possible for clicks/views.

That detail is 100% about getting him more money.
I don’t like this kind of mean hazing, but I don’t believe you could get a normal guy to lay on the floor naked and touch himself in front of his baseball team or just take brutal beatings and then keep showing up for practice.
There was something wrong with this guy that allowed all this to happen.

Of course I remember him but haven’t heard his name in a while and had no idea he went to Seaton Hall.

what logo is that (raven or crow with "A" on the sweater)?

year long travel ball and its consequences. Baseball players create such a strange homoerotic culture when left to their own devices.
