I have met him a few times as he was a friend of one of our board members. Comes from a long time dem power family in Tennessee. They are the old Dixie Crats which now is the establishment repubs. Moderate but lifelong Dem and would vote with his party like they all do. But yes. Super nice guy

They don't want unity, they want compliance. And he's just as much as a useful idiot as RINOs (to the same people).

Do not be fooled. The guy is a tv personality who works as the polite ‘opposition’ opinion on a ‘conservative’ network. He’s old money, uniparty like the rest. Look at his political history and you’ll see he’s a dem first and foremost and always will support the party on on anything of significance, especially social issues. Just because he’s polite and polished doesn’t mean he’s different than any other liberal Democrat. Likely an image rebuild so he can run for office again one day, and trick a few ‘moderate’ repubs into supporting him.

He ran for U.S. Senate in the most friendly year for Democrats since the post watergate 1976 cycle. His loss meant he had no real political future so he joined the boards of multi-national corporations and cashed in
