Why does America suck at teaching immigration history?

I find it funny that America struggles with teaching immigration history effectively for several reasons, of which stem from political, cultural, and systemic biases in how history is curated and taught in schools.
A prime example of this is the lack of widespread understanding about the Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882—the first significant federal law that explicitly restricted immigration based on race and nationality. Despite its historic significance, it’s often glossed over or omitted entirely in K-12 education thanks in large part to Texas education and its influence.
Why does Trump get blamed for his immigration policies when we know America has had a border issue that dates back centuries?

Why aren't Civics mandatory any more? Because an informed Electorate is a danger to career Civil Servants and Elected Politicians.

American education has sucked massively on all aspects of history and civics for multiple generations now.
We’ve apparently decided to emphasize useless (for most people) math/science classes and 19th century English literature

The book I'm reading is on immigration trends over the last 50 years in the US and Europe. The best video I saw on longer American history had a great observation: 'People did not immigrate to America from different countries. They immigrated here from different religions and groups.'
IE, in 18th century England you had religion X,Y,Z who all hated each other. They immigrated to America. They still hated each other. They had different beliefs and cultures and that remained in their new home and was passed on to their kids.

Look at who is doing the teaching. This is one of the major issues.

Another example is the biggest public lynching in American history. It does not comport with the CIA narrative.

I mean, “a border” issue is one way to describe that act

The majority of people in this country believe Columbus discovered the country we currently live in.

America has always been extremely pro immigration. It’s only up until recently that it became an issue.

Same thing happens when you fill a container. It gets too full.
Physics and stuff. So predictable.

The US has the most unqualified teachers on the planet.
And for decades the GOPe, through their actions have supported open borders.

"Teaching", (in High School, at least), took a big hit in the 70s, when teachers lost control of the classroom.
