Why do people like Florida?

Here at Marco Island and it's hot AF. Just nasty weather every day. The beach shite is boring and nobody speaks America's language.

Hot babes, cool breezes, low taxes and it looks like a penis.

The poors go to the beach during the summer. The not poors go in the early spring/fall when it's not too hot.

It's better than freezing your arse off in some shithole

It’s a lot better than whatever Arkansas has to offer

Best beaches in the country is a great start

Because it’s everything that Louisiana could be. Louisiana chooses not to be.
Florida:
No income tax
Great roads
Cheap vehicle registration
Insurance costs coming down after legislative action.
Louisiana:
Income tax
Just raised sales tax
Garbage roads
Obscene cost of vehicle registration Insurance costs
Brake tags
Sky high insurance thanks to a legislature that serves as Gordon/Morris Bart/dudley debosier/womac/mike brandner/chopin/Juan Lafonta/[insert corrupt trial lawyer here] lobbying arm
Gee, tough choice. At least we have crawfish!

Well your #1 problem is going to the Marco Island beach. Rent a boat and go to one of the islands where you will have the beach to yourself and can relax, fish, do whatever you please.

If you were going on a strictly beach trip you should have gone to 30A, not Marco Island.

Most of us take Rosemary Beach/Seaside for granted in Florida because that's the beach we see any time drive down 30A. But if I send photos of that white sand with vegetation growing up the dunes to friends on the Atlantic or Pacific Coast they're quick to say it's the prettiest beach they've seen anywhere in the country.

Ozarks and Oak trees with far less people.

Last time I went we walked to the jetty and back in the sand - It SUCKED
Then I got in the water and the waves beat the crap out of me.
I'll sit by the pool from now on, frick the beach

I don't understand it either. If you grow up away from salt water, its a curiosity that seems to be ever present.
However, once you've been to the panhandle beaches in the hot-arse summer, the glory escapes it for me.
My family still loves it and seems to be an obligatory event to at least once a year to rent an expensive condo, slather gallons of sunblock, haul a wagon load of tents, chairs, coolers, and drinks to sit in the sand for 8 miserable hours, adjusting the sun umbrella every 30 minutes, watching the waves like old re-runs on MeTV, until the sun finally sets.
Repeat for the next 5 days. No! I'm sick of it.
Disclaimer: I used to own one of those rental condos.

Why do you think the snowbirds leave by Mother's Day at the latest? The summers are very uncomfortable there.

Quit bitching, buy some oranges, some tshirts, get a tan, take some photos at the state line and come back next year.

great place if you'd kick everyone out

jk, I lived there for about twenty years, still have a couple of rentals there, the things I didn't like about it were too many rules, and I lived in Palm Beach County so almost everybody there was from New York or New Jersey, and that got a bit old, but it's a pretty place, all kinds of outdoors stuff to do, and an over all pleasant climate, with the exception of the occasional hurricane

I thought you were in Little Rock?

Well they do have very nice beaches which attracts a wealthy 2nd home crowd who pay a lot in property taxes on their beachfront properties while using very little of the government services themselves. It's also easier to get to from the east coast and is close to the Caribbean for a quick international vacation. 3 premier universities. Disney world. Louisiana has swamp fishing and cajun food. Wasn't really a fair fight.
