This would really only apply if we got a weaker four seed.

Give Dickinson a shot to hit leadoff. He's very capable of getting on base, and IIRC has hit there this year

Bat Frey second. If you really want your hottest hitters getting the most at bats, they need to be at the top of the lineup.

Brown third, great at getting on AND driving them in.

Jones cleanup. He's not doing much right now, but obviously can get hot easily. This provides a lot of value and less pressure to get on base moving down.

Curiel fifth. move him down so he has less pressure and can break his slump, it's been terrible since TAMU.

Hernandez 6, Milam 7, Braswell 8, Stanfield 9

I feel like this could work and we could realistically see it, we have hot players at 1-2 and aren't guaranteed to start the game with two outs *most of the time* anymore.

I agree with Dickinson lead off. He’s your best hitter. Let him set the tone

You don’t move a guy who is struggling behind Jones that doesnt give him any protection. Baseball 101.

They need plenty of rest and accelerated bp practice daily.

Except against a LHP the any pulse and a slider. He is terrible. You do what you’ve done all season and leave Pearson in that spot if you’re playing vs LHP.
If you want to do something, figure out how to get Beck, little Pearson and Larson more ABs.

Hows it been working out for jones with “protection”?

This old wives tale needs to die

I gave this an upvote because I think ?? it could work. But most coaches make major shakeups during midseason in hopes it would inspire a positive outcome. I don’t think the LSU team has reached that point of desperation and JJ probably believes that this team has been successful for most of the season. That being said some of LSU’s best hitters are struggling at the wrong time of the season. So im just gonna sit back and and watch it all play out because what we think and feel really doesn’t matter anyway

Or maybe we don't panic after two games and we stick with the lineup that's made us a national seed

Hopefully they try something different.
Curiel was guaranteed several things to attract him here.
Besides lots of cash.
Is it possible lead off spot was one of them ?
Just speculating……

Totally agree moving Dickson back up.

Dickson or DC 1-2, 2-1. That 2 spot needs to be able to bunt over runners in scoring position for JJ and Frey.

I hate JJ in the 2 spot.

Do people really believe a coach is going to guarantee a player a certain spot in the lineup even if they can’t produce?

Curiel is in the lead off spot because Jay has faith in him. Not because of some promise.

I'm not panicking, I wouldn't even be nervous if we stuck with the lineup

But it's been more than two games at this point. Not sure what it would hurt shaking it up

Gave you an up vote because your logic is sound. I also could go along with not making this many changes because I think we will hit in the big tourney regardless. Would continue to platoon Brown and Pearson based on pitcher, though.

Would like to see the on base percentage of all starters in the last 9 games.

Stanfield doesn’t have an RBI in SEC play since 4/11. I would start Pearson, Curiel, and Brown in the OF. I’d also have Dickinson 2nd. Dickinson and Curiel have the best OBP. Dickinson can execute anything you need offensively. We need more overall run production, so I would have Pearson and Brown in the lineup, two guys more capable of getting a big hit and drive in runs.

Curiel
Dickinson
Jones
Frey
Brown
Pearson
Milam
Hernandez
Braswell
