I’d like to see Noot get the start today.
He looked good last week in 4 innings of relief on 55 pitches.
If he looks good, see if he can extend to around 70-75 pitches today.
If that happens, we have our game 3 starter for regionals, where he could maybe extend even more to around 90 pitches.
This would also allow us to keep Evans and Shores in the bullpen, giving us more depth there.

Noot, Evans, or Shores

I’d bet he wants to get our top pitchers work. That seems to be his priority. So maybe Evans, Shores, and Cowan pitch.

I think Noot gets the start and if LSU gets an early lead you see Shores and Cowan in relief to try to seal it. Then you have Evans and wholestaff on Sunday.

If LSU falls behind early then it would not surprise me at all if Jay used 7 different pitchers today trying to get everyone some work before going home.

I think you’ll see Evans, Cowan, Shores today to make sure they get work. You’ll have Noot, Ware, Williams, and whoever else needs to pitch tomorrow.

Probably Evans to make sure he gets some work this weekend. Then Shores or Noot Sun if we get the win. I honestly have no idea though.

I agree Jay probably wants to get Shores, Evans and Cowan some work today.
I think you can still do that with Noot starting.
Noot goes 4 or 5 innings. Shores, Evans and Cowan each get an inning or two.

For those under 40 that did not get it. Here is the famous 'Who's on First" Abbott and Costello routine.

Agree w/noot. Hoping that puts us in a good position. I’d like to see Fontenot come in to close.

I don't think anyone is going 4 or 5 innings. 3 tops and that's with pitch count of 50 or less

I think that’s definitely the case for Evans, Shores and Cowan. But Noot is kind of a wild card.
If he can show that he can extend and be a reliable starter, he wouldn’t pitch again until game 3 of the regional, which would be Sunday, giving him a week and a day of rest.

Be interesting to see Jay's take. I would start Evans if I plan on starting him in the 3rd game of the regional. He didn't start against USCe and it would be good to give home a start in a big game before the big show.

If we go deep in the tourney, starters are going to be called on to relieve and relievers will be asked to start, so I don't know if Jay is testing his guys. He did use Eyanson as a reliever, already. That may be so he can use some of his other guys in alternative roles.

Evans should, or whoever he would want to pitch 3rd in each postseason format.

Evans only threw 27 pitches last week. You should try and get him 40-50 today
