For Those Curious What DOGE Has Been Up To - Cleaning Up 12.3M+ Folks on SS Aged 120+

Reminder: they fought like hell in both district courts, hearings, AND in the press to stop DOGE from even seeing this info, much less the level of access required to do an audit. I won't be surprised at all to find out the +120 yr olds and double-numbers are indeed campaign donors through ActBlue.

Why doesn't it say if any of those were actually collecting payments? If they were it seems it would be pretty easy to track down who was collecting the money. Doge doesn't seem shy from appointing a dollar amount to the fraud they find but nothing about an amount here, seems weird.

This is one sides argument. They are saying that they aren't collecting payments. But they never answer why are they so upset that all of these are getting cleaned up. If they aren't collecting benefits then this is just simple clerical work. No need for them to be so upset.

Need to go a step beyond. We are correcting the issue now, but we need a system in place to prevent it from happening again.
We all pay into Social Security. It's solvency depends on there not being fraud; and no system in place to sunset a social security number is clearly a vulnerability that opens the door for fraud.

when the dems talk about republicans cheating, they are effectively talking about removing the dead people that the dems were using to vote, thus cheating them out of cheating. No wonder they are pissed.

it has never been about being upset about things getting cleaned up. It is about how it is getting done.
As simple as I can put this, I don't trust Musk and some random 21 year old kids to have access to and modify government databases with little to no oversight.
Trump could have told the SS office they have 6 months or whatever timeframe to clean up files, delete dead people, and put together a report to give directly to him. That would have been fine.
At the end of the day, there are so many things MAGA is fine with Trump doing, but would be near a revolt if any Democrat did the same thing.
