This is dumb. Guys on death row and they want him to undergo a 4 month evaluation to determine if he’s of sound mind so he can choose to die.

Isn't that literally the opposite of a death sentence?

Robertson, 51, has been on death row since 1999 after killing both his parents in their Rock Hill home. He beat his father with the claw end of a hammer and a baseball bat and stabbed his mother. He tried to make it look like a robbery in hopes he would get his part of their $2.2 million estate, prosecutors said.

this. is dumber, let the fricker go

ETA: is this baw related to the Menendez bros?

Just from reading a few books about people on Death Row, they build a strong relationship with the people in cells next to them as well as some of the others.. He has been in there for 26 years and the people he probably connected with are gone.. He killed his parents so he isn't ever getting out. Death might be better than staying alive living in a cell 23 hrs of the day.

All he needs is his bedsheet and the top bunk.. why does he need permission from the state?

Good. Let him die.

We've been doing pretty good in SC with carrying out these executions.

So I'm fine with keeping him alive if it will torment him.

No federal tax on $2.2 million estate other than assets in traditional retirement taxed as income as drawn down. Back when this happened probably could still.do.a stretch IRA and extend it out over lifetime.
Eta: nevermind just it looked up, surprised to find back in 1999 estate tax exclusion was only $650k.

How does this become news?

Death row guy tells Warden he wants death.
Prison records public and sifted through by journalists?
