by blacks that advocate for this, that they are truly an inferior race? Are they not saying that after 2 centuries, they have been unable to overcome adversity and must rely on everybody else to carry them. I do not believe they are inferior. I know too many black people that have been very successful through their own hard work to believe reparations are needed.

No they just want to take easy money from people who worked hard and sacrificed for it.

Africa still looks the exact same it did 200 years ago, yet we’re now being told behind all the great inventions of the world it was really an African who did it and had the credit stolen by a white.

Seems strange they’re still living in mud huts with no water in the homeland, where’s wakanda!

No. The only blacks that want this are Progressives.

ALL progressives, even the white ones, want what isn't theirs.

ALL progressives take, they do not create.

Its an admission of cultural failure.

Yet Democrats double down on it.

No, but that seems to be the belief of some of you, as evidenced by your post…

The reality is that the Emancipation in itself did not address the decades of being held captive, denied education and the socialization that comes with being allowed to participate in a free society. Then, followed another century of forced segregation and denial of economic opportunity, not to mention quality education. There was no real opportunity to create generational wealth that would have afforded opportunity to subsequent generations.

That said, I think reparations in the form of simple cash payments would be a failure and unjust.

it is a waste of time to even talk about reparations

it is not going to happen. it will go down in flames just like the reparations committee in California. Remember? they found that about 4 million dollars per black person would be fair.

What percent of Americans do you think have "generational wealth"?

Yeah. This is the reason there is a culture of death in that community.

“Generational wealth” will solve it all.

To be fair, they say the law didn’t change until the 1960s and it has been a long term erosion of state sanctioned discrimination since then. That’s not my point of view. I think it’s important that the law have no regard for race in terms of anyone having a legal advantage on the basis of race.

Our education system is teaching them how to complain and make grievances instead of useful skills that will help them advance economically.

Reparations are another call and another form of redistribution of wealth from the left. The wealthy left have no intention of ever sacrificing their personal wealth.

Lip service; ignore.

And now gunned down by their own in the streets, belittled in music by their own, made fun of for attempting to better themselves by intended belittling claims of “acting white”, belittling themselves by calling each other a derogatory slur, embezzle for themselves of money meant to better the community, reject investment in communities as “gentrification”, burn down their own communities as a “protest”…

But alas… these threads are the 4cubbies bat signal. Here comes the virtue signaling…

Black people as a group have not earned reparations.

Look at how many kids are born with no father around. This leads to everything downstream like violence, drug use, illiteracy, promiscuity, incarceration levels, etc.

The black community needs to stop looking elsewhere for the answer and start fixing their own communities.

Reparations will never happen regardless, but they can at least TRY to fix their problems in their communities by starting in the home.

It might be an admission, might not.

All I know is the recent revival of the conversation is simply an attempt to derail Trump & Johnson's budget negotiations so that Trump gets less than what Johnson was prepared to do originally.
