Any idea what they use?
There was no product info on the sheet they left at the door, and I have not received an email.

For clarification, an individual did this useing a blower/fogger. I'm not talking about the truck.

Almost certainly a synthetic pyrethrin.
Lambda-Cyhalothrin Seems to be the go-to for airborne mosquitoes. Deadly to bugs, toxic to fish, and maybe slightly toxic to cats.

As soon as we heard that familiar buzzing noise of the mosquito truck, we'd all hop on our bikes. Good times.

I used to do that too when I was a kid back in the ‘60’s. I wonder what they were using back then, and if it’s causing any health problems now.
It’s a wonder that we didn’t get run over by cars coming toward us, because that was some thick fog up close to the truck.

I might be wrong. Ft Worth uses Dibrom which seems to also be toxic to birds and is illegal in Europe. Some studies show it can affect mental development in small children. It is very short lived though, so if you aren’t being sprayed with it, you’re probably good.

The truck turns the fog off if there’s anyone outside now. Heard him coming last year, so I sprinted inside

lol. We would ride our bikes behind the truck. For the life of me I can’t remember why. Or what the OP asked? lol. Seriously we liked the smell I think. Or maybe the lack of mosquitoes!

That was also back in the day when you had to clean/wash your windshield a few times a week. Now? Hell, you notice when a bug happens to hit your windshield. They just aren't out there in any large numbers anymore. Mosquitoes are still plentiful, though......wonder what that means?

Was walking the dog last night and the mosquito truck passed by and and for a second I wondered if I should maybe get a little further away from it but I remembered that I took so many Flinstone vitamins as a kid I am immune to pretty much everything

That also has a lot to do with how aerodynamic cars are now.

I've never thought about that, but it makes sense that it could have some impact. The studies they've done, though, use the bumper on vehicles. They put a solid white flat panel that is mounted to the front plate holder.

The mosquitoes were so bad in grand isle Saturday that I couldn’t finish cutting my grass. I used a can of off. It would work then I sweat and had to reapply so many times. But they fogged all weekend. I guess if you on the beach you are shite out of luck since there is always a wind blowing the fog the other way.
