FWIW, There's only two things that money can't buy. And that's true love and home grown tomatoes.

It’s amazing how much the taste difference is between a store bought tomato and home grown. I do not buy or even like store tomatoes but absolutely love a home grown one

Plant 'em in the spring, eat 'em in the summer
All winter without 'em's a culinary bummer

Tony Accordo at Accordo Farms has awesome heirloom tomatoes. He's usually at the Saturday Farmers Market downtown when they're in season.
I was the last weekend and there were no tomatoes out yet... fwiw

There were a few yesterday at the Tuesday market at the library. I didn't make it over there in time.

It's getting close.. My favorite summer meal is meat, rice and gravy with tomatoes and cucumbers.

All you need is a 5 gallon bucket, some potting soil, bone meal and fertilizer. Well worth it.

Homegrown Tomatoes
Bonus Guy Clark’s friend.
Big Cheeseburgers & Good French Fries
Saw Guy Clark a couple times at The Red Dragon in BR. It’s closing next month.
And I have about 6 big Cherokee purple that will be ready by the weekend.

Grow some Roma tomatoes and blanch and freeze and have wonderful pasta red sauce all winter long.

I've got 4 varieties in my garden right now and they are full of green tomatoes with some of the smaller ones starting to ripen. I have Creole, Black Krim, Roma and Cherry tomatoes.
The cherry tomatoes are starting to ripen first, but when the larger ones start to ripen, I'm going to be loaded with them for weeks.
Good thing is, I also have my cucumbers coming in about the same time and a home grown, vine ripened cucumber is damn good. Store bought don't compare in crispness and flavor.

Rome's Homegrown Tomatoes in Convent is the best I've found.

When you find yourself flat busted on home grown tomatoes, these store bought ones are worth a try.
Pretty consistent year-round and very rarely disappointing completely.
