Later this year, ESPN’s mobile application will be reimagined and act as the gateway to the all-access service on smart TVs and devices. The revamped app, which will include new features such as a personalized “SportsCenter,” will be available to all users — not just those who purchase ESPN’s $29.99 direct-to-consumer product.

quote:

The ESPN application will include all of the network’s live games; programming on other ESPN cable networks such as ESPN2 and the SEC Network; ESPN on ABC; fantasy products; new betting tie-ins; studio programming; documentaries; and more.

quote:

When bundled with Disney+ and Hulu’s ad-supported products, the three services will cost $35.99 per month. That price falls to $29.99 per month for the first 12 months for customers who sign up at launch.

quote:

Customers who purchase ESPN outside of the cable bundle will also receive ESPN+.

quote:

ESPN+ will remain a less expensive offering for consumers, functioning as the entry tier for ESPN customers who don’t want the entire service. ESPN+ costs $11.99 per month and can be bundled with Disney+ and Hulu for $16.99 per month with commercials.

LINK
Its all good news:
-The app will be redesigned (greatly needed, as the UI and search function is currently awful)
-New $30 service includes all live events on ESPN, ESPN2, ABC, and SEC Network (basically a cheaper alternative than YoutubeTV or Sling if you just want live ESPN)
-ESPN+ is included (great news for college baseball fans)
-ESPN+ can still be bought separately (so no one will be forced to buy the new option)

I pretty much stayed the course with my boomer cable because I could never really figure out what streaming services to commit to.

Pass. Very hard pass. I pay for live sports, all of the other bs ESPN shows isn't worth the time of day.

See, this is all I ever wanted out of YouTube TV. Give me the locals and ESPN network so I can watch whatever games I want without all the unnecessary channels. As much as I despise Disney, I'll gladly save myself $500/year by not having my "TV" subscription service anymore.

The advantage with Youtube TV is that it's easy to switch between games and watch multiple games at the same time on multiview during college football season.

I like the multi-view, but they need to make it customizable.

You don’t need to spend money on an espn app to get what you want out of sports in general. I can watch the games live and literally find anywhere on line for the extra content and highlights. fricking stupid.

For all the people complaining about having 5+ streaming services... exactly how much TV do you watch?

We have Disney + HBO. Thats plenty.

Their current app is complete dogshit. The iOS version is a little better than the version that is supported for Amazon, or Smart Tvs, but they all suck. Constantly logging you out, when you go to watch a show and log in it gets stuck in a damn loop where it asks you to log in with your TV provider over and over again.

We don't watch a ton of TV, 99% of the time our TV is on Disney+, but I want to be able to watch whatever I want, whenever I want if I do get a chance to watch.

We have YoutubeTV, HBO, Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, Prime, Netflix, AppleTV+, and we recently added Paramount+ to watch Mobland

All of that is still cheaper than my last cable subscription.

NFL is on paramount plus, ESPN, Amazon prime, and over the air networks

NHL is on tnt

Golf is on golf channel and ESPN plus

College baseball is on ESPN plus.

Etc, etc

You have to spend $100 a month just to watch big sporting events

Drives me fricking insane. I've gotten to where I just do it as soon as I open it instead of trying to select the LSU baseball game and see that fricking message

Which service do you use or prefer? Any advice?

I've seen things like Apollo, XtremeHD and CatchOn, but don't really know what to make of them or if they are reliable and I can watch what I want.
