Well, our own judges won't let us fight back (because they empathize more with Venezuelan socialists than they do American citizens) so Trump will have to find another way to fight back.

I wish we could just overthrow Maduro and get the guy that was technically winning in charge. Then help them get their energy production up to speed.

Problem is it won't be quick and whatever would occur would probably escalate

My, my, my. Does this make Venezuela an enemy in the publics eyes?

I think it does.

All hail the Alien Enemies Act. It just got a big supporting boost. Having to rescue hostages, right before the run-up to the decision on deporting illegal enemies

Lulz. What a country!!

I had no idea there were so many Americans being held hostage. It’s amazing what Trump is doing.

The only one Biden got released was the transjinga basketball player that tried to smuggle weed into Russia.

Edit: these apparently weren’t Americans, but the point still stands.

He has done a fantastic job and seems 100% on board with the MAGA agenda

I’m not sure it would escalate. I think vast majority of Venezuelans would support it. We could handle the military loyalists to Maduro in short order

Really hope he runs for President.

The rest of Trump's cabinet have been mostly clowns.

maybe so. Do you think there was an alternative to releasing the hostages "diplomatically"? I bet there were 2 choices and they chose "dipolmacy"..

I hope so, but why would they describe it as a “precise operation”?

The “conservatives” here can hoop and holler for using our military in other countries with no clear American interred at stake. Send your sons and daughters to do it, then.

A few comments re Venezuelans.

Here in Trinidad we are 7 miles from their shore, mostly rural. We now have about 10% of the population Venezuela. Maybe its because they come from rural areas (like flyover America), or maybe because we dont have hand outs. But the vast majority bust their arse. You often hear Trinis say they need work to do some hard work and the response is "go get a couple of Spaniards (its what they are referred to here)". All the trash went to the US.

Venezuela will not "come back" for at least a generation. Most of the middle class has left. I was talking with one who said all his classmates had migrated years ago. His best friend married in the US has two kids, a great job and would never come back and thats the norm.

Trump has now canceled the "agreement" biden had with chevron to produce about 30% of the oil in Venezuela, AND threatened to put another 25% tariff on anyone who buys their oil. Maduro will be toast sooner rather than later.
