Top 7 reasons Jeff Landry is garbage.

1. He got in bed with the plaintiff lawyers. Not just in bed, but he has the red ball gag in his mouth, is wearing the nylons and stiletto heels, and has at least two billboard lawyer dicks in his arse. He sold out the many pro-tort reform conservatives who voted for him without a second thought. He swaps favors for support and money like a true Louisiana pol. (That is a recurring theme with all of these observations.)
2. His fake-arse attempt to convince us that he is doing some sort of tort reform. He is making Tim Temple the fall guy for any future increases in car insurance premiums. He had his henchmen on the floor of the legislature last week threatening vetoes and loss of committee chairmanships against anyone who refused to support his bill. Tell me... after this, why would anyone ever want to run for the Commissioner of Insurance? Insurance in this state is dead.
3. He has tried to politicize independent boards by gaining power over nominations. This is especially glaring with regarding to the Flood Protection Authority - East, which was supposed to be an independent board, free of political influence, dedicated to flood protection and reliant on professionals and scientists. He and his boy Shane Guidry are trying to blow it up and get control to take care of his buddies.
4. He is friends with Shane Guidry. Guidry donates a lot of money. Landry lets Guidry dictate New Orleans policy. Back scratching.
5. He killed the Barataria Diversion. Again, promises kept. These promises were to Nungesser and the fisherman cabal. Decades of research down the toilet. Some folks might like this move, but in 50 years we will all rue the day when the Gulf of Amexico is lapping at the levees on the westbank.
6. He put Gordy Dove in charge of the LCPRA. Gordy knows how to carry the water for the boss. If anyone thinks Dove knows jack shite about coastal restoration and protection, you don't know anything at all. (See item 5.)
7. He hired Aurelia Giacometto on the recommendation of Donald Trump, Jr.
I'm sure others can come up with plenty more reasons. This dude is not a conservative. He is not interested in good government, just the exercise of raw power. He is a piece of shite. I hope we have a good option next time.
ETA: I clumsily worded the first paragraph to make it sound like I voted for him. I am a pro-tort reform Republican, but I did not vote for him.

I would say the biggest thing for me - he is not really a true believer in the mission. JL is a modern day politician in its most pure form. He says maga-ish stuff because he knows it plays. But he isn’t really down for that cause any further than it can get him personally. There is no doubt in my mind that JL would do just what JBE did if he thought it would increase his power, influence or put him in a position to seek higher office.

People will literally do anything but blame insurance companies for fricking them every chance they get.
Every Chance.

Graves will primary him come re-election time.
Outside of improvements to gun laws, what's he going to run on? That he got rid of local employees and replaced them with Indians and out of state firms? Traffic is getting worse and this is GG's bread and butter topic.
Graves will mop the floor with him.

Brian Caubureax had a JBE sign in his front yard for both of his runs for governor. When I saw a Landry sign in his yard, I just laughed. Ambulance chasers scratching each other's backs. But I voted for Landry. Better than Shawn Wilson

I have no interest in Jeff Landry. He was an attention seeking goofball as AG. He's a bigger dweeb as Governor.
He has tried to attach himself to Trumpworld for 10 years.
Typical LA politician. Wish we'd find someone with common sense.
Nobody has real money on the conservative side except the trial attorneys so they kind of steer the State. It's just sad.

Graves quits everything he does. He quit school 3 times. He quit on Jindal. He quit in his constituents. Why would you want to elect someone thats actually uneducated?

How positively erudite. You like the homoerotic? This sort of imagery is all too frequent from the fat little dweebs in mom’s basement who inhabit this board.

He is also busy cutting statutory business incentives that the legislature has input on and replacing them with slush funds administered by LED.
I hate the idea of the Executive branch getting to essentially self appropriate hundreds of millions of dollars with limited legislative input.
Jay Luneau called him out in it in a Rev and Fisc committee meeting, but then voted for the bill anyway.

Is that the best you got?
No, I want a common sense conservative who will actually improve the lives of the people in this shitty state. Not a carnival barker like Landry.

Insurance companies aren’t in business to screw people. Unfortunately, there are some bad companies and bad agents who ruin it for everybody but that goes for every profession. Yes, some insurers have made massive profits but certainly not all or close to a majority. Most companies teeter between being profitable and closing the doors a lot more than people realize. Plus, it’s not a charitable endeavor, these companies are trying to make money just like any other business and have shareholders and boards to answer to. The same people who constantly complain about insurance costs piss money they don’t have away on a lot of things. Also, people buy a home on the higher end of their budget and never figure in an increase in costs over the years. Hate to break it to you there isn’t a real clear solution and insurance ain’t getting cheaper. The government getting involved will only make it worse!

We actually want insurance companies to come here and do business, and compete. There is one really big reason they don’t want to do that. Highest per-policy spend on litigation in the United States.
