The Americans or The Leftovers?

Just finished Veep so I'm now in need of a new series. Whenever I'm in this situation I like to know as little as possible going in and want to go in with a pretty much blank slate knowing nothing. With that said I've heard both of these shows are outstanding and both absolutely worthy of a watch.
The ONLY thing I know about either show is TA is about a spy family undercover and TL is a post-apocalyptic kinda thing where some people on earth disappear. I know literally nothing else about either.
For those that have watched both, which would you prefer?

Americans is one of my personal top 5 shows.
The scoring adds to the show. The last episode is about as well as a series can finish up.

Not a bad choice if you want awesome ridiculousness and nudity, but I’d go with The Leftovers first. I still haven’t watched The Americans.

Americans is good but The Leftovers is the goat. Probably watched it 4-5 times and will certainly watch it more. Near perfect television.

iwy and I love The Leftovers. It’s so unique and interesting, but you need to understand that it’s a journey of wtf - but it’s great.

Matthew Rhys as Philip in the Americans gave us one of the GOAT performances in Television history from start to finish. I love that fricking show. Super underrated and right there with the Breaking Bad’s of the world.
