Reuters

quote:

ISLAMABAD/SRINAGAR, April 30 (Reuters) - Pakistan said on Wednesday it has "credible intelligence" that India intends to launch military action soon, as tensions between the nuclear-armed neighbours escalate following a deadly attack on tourists in Indian Kashmir.
In the April 22 attack, the assailants segregated men, asked their names and targeted Hindus before shooting them at close range in the Pahalgam area, killing 26 people, officials and survivors said.

imminent means a "period of time greater than 4 years". - per HHTM.

Don't they mean to say that a "counter attack" by India is imminent?

None of you seem to know the definition of "imminent". Imminent means it's on its way right now. So we should be hearing of the launch within a few minutes. But of course we won't. You all need to stop using words you don't know the meaning of.

Yawn. Border raids in the Kashmir region have been going on forever.

India is going after the cells that carried out the attack last week.

Imminent doesn't mean "within minutes" It is an inherently relative term.

Everything is relative

They're expecting an attack within the next 36 hours

I'd say in the grand scheme of things that's pretty imminent. Rebel is just repeating or paraphrasing what they're saying. No reason to attack him for that.

we use HHTM's definition of imminent which is still evolving. on 4/2/21 he said Gaetz arrest was imminent. obviously, imminent means a length of time greater than 4 years.

it isn't difficult to understand.

BS. When the meteorologist tells you a tornado touching down is imminent and to seek shelter, they mean you have a very short window to prepare yourself.

In this context the danger is more immediate and anyone who isn't a retard can figure this out based on context

If India does in fact attack Pakistan within the next 36 hours they would have been correct that the threat is imminent.

Right. You're proving my point. The meaning of the word is entirely contextual.

If a weather man says a tornado is imminent--I, as a rational adult, know that it means a tornado is coming right this minute and I should take shelter.

If someone tells me a nation's military invasion of another nation is "imminent", I, an adult with common sense, would never expect that to mean "minutes".

Again, the application of "imminent" is relative and contextual.

Both countries have Nukes and both are overpopulated. So guess whoever shoots first wins this conflict. Although I never really understood how you can Nuke a country you share a border with since the fallout is at the mercy of the wind.

They can’t do that because neither nation uses them.

Sorry, Dex, but that is not the definition. But at least you spelled it correctly.

I wonder why India would do so? Could it be that the Paki army trained a bunch of terrorist and then sent them ton a mission to India to kill Hindu Indians?
