You will see this magical moment where the left and democrats will be upset that the bottom 88% of income earners in American will not be paying taxes.

We'll see a lot of magical shite if spending isn't massively reigned in at the same time.

They will spin it to idiots that they no longer get tax refunds, bc they no longer have to withhold from their paychecks all year long. That’s how dumb half the country is. They would be mad they stop getting their child credits.

You're not wrong, I can see a CNN headline. Trump to take away your tax refund. Millions will no longer get their tax refund towards the start of the year.

I thought he wanted to shrink the deficit.

But now you're happy he's expanding it. Hypocrisy defined.

It’s not happening. We have a $1.9 trillion annual deficit and a $37 trillion debt. We have a lot of hard work ahead of us to get that fixed, and we have run out of time to keep fooling around. Tariffs aren’t going to be a big factor in helping with this.

As much as I would love this, there's zero chance of it happening.

At best we will just get the typical GOPe tax cuts.

So $260k with 30% tax equals $199k with zero tax. I get everyone under the $200k threshold will celebrate but $200k is arbitrary and has no legitimate basis for the cutoff. It needs to be a flat tax for all, preferably 0%.

Unless everyone’s first $200k isn’t taxed, that would be fine

I don't know if it’s true anymore, but when I was a young E5, with a wife and two kids, twenty years ago, I paid less than $200 a month in taxes and my "refund" was 9-10k. Even at the time, I knew there was no way that was sustainable.

Point being, if it’s still anything like that, that's a pretty effective message for people in that situation.

Please don't misunderstand me. It's insane fiscal policy with our massive deficit, but people vote in their own self-interests, and the current system actually is in the self-interest of a sizable subset of voters.

The only way to reduce the deficit is to reduce spending.

Lowering taxes will help the economy (which raised tax revenue)

It is super simple yet so hard for people to comprehend
