Was it in an accident, died peacefully, or murder?
I’m 46 and havent witnessed someone die in front of my eyes, besides videos.

Yes, it's not pleasant....

Same with both of my grandparents. We were in the house but only our parents were in the actual room.

Unfortunately yes. It’s heartbreaking.

Tak's food mart at brookstown and Prescott. Was about to go in for some Lo mein when right there on the sidewalk by the front door one black dude runs up and puts 5 9mm rounds in this other black dude's chest. He died right there on the pavement. I noped out, not about to get shot over some gooniegoo nonsense, then a couple minutes later and checked out the scene. Dude bled out right there. Nothing paramedics could do (there was a fire station near by)

Watched my dad die after sister put him on morphine which slows down ability to breathe.
Won't ever forget this.

My mother. She was on a lot of morphine and had been in a coma for several days and she just quit breathing.
I’m 42 as well but was 41 when it happened.

I’ve seen one and a half people die in college.
One was a 30 something guy playing basketball at the rec center.
Started shaking and made his way to lie on his back. Shaking stopped and that was it for him. I didn’t know he died on the court until the next day.
Also saw a girl at the Pi Lamda Phi house fish out (ghb plus alcohol and who knows what else) on their lawn. She coded and they brought the defibrillator out. She came back.
Both within about six months of each other.

Saw a father and little girl die from a lightning strike on the beach at Gulf Shores in 2005. Tropical storm was starting to roll through, and the father was trying to grab his beach umbrella that the wind was about to send off. I was watching the storm from the balcony and saw the whole thing and called 911.

Yeah. I was holding my Mom's hand and rubbing her shoulder when she gasped her last breath and then went still. Not something I would wish on my worst enemy.

Yes, Dad was in a coma, and had been for several days. A tear came out of his left eye, rolled down his cheek and he was gone.
I have since learned that is not uncommon.

I was the only one with my Grandfather when he passed, it was an honor to be by his side.

Yes, I spent time in Afghanistan and Iraq and was present when a loved one died. There is no positive outcome from seeing someone die. Quite honestly, even if it's peaceful, it's still traumatic.
