I like the Bryson move. He reportedly is one of the reasons we’ve drafted well in the Griff era.

The Willie move is just bonkers. Complete brain dead move. He only has a year left on his contract so hopefully we just let it run out and Willie leads us to another top 5 pick.

If we extend Willie I will melt even harder

So are the rumors true that Bryson will be actual GM, while Dumars just overseas everything

He'll do the bulk of the work like most assistant GMs in the league while Dumars will call the shots.

I feel like we're living in a dream, this is so batshit crazy. We fire Griff, hire Dumars and keep Willie. That's the worst imaginable off-season. Atleast we'll land multiple top 5 picks.

Obviously a team that is not serious about basketball.

I think they do not understand or believe how bad it can get in relations to fans support.

Perhaps they feel some misplaced fan loyalty will spill over from the fans love of the Saints (to a fault sometimes). It wont.

IMO Pelicans upper management could not be more wrong about that. They might actually witness a season where less fans show up to games than during the Covid seasons where fans were prohibited from attending.

Sadly being this high in the lottery again is not a sure thing. It really depends on Z. Willie can lead this team to the play-in, keeping us stuck in the mushy middle. That would be worst case scenario.

Crazy that coaches are getting fired for getting their teams in the playoffs and fired the season after winning championships and we keep ours who’s made the playoffs once in half a decade.

I am at the point where if the team did move I wouldn’t be too upset with it. I’d roll the dice with new ownership staying here or not.

everyone seems to have nothing bad to say. why would dumars not want to step in and see what kind of talent is already here that knows the players best.

Willie Green

last year of contract... i mean, i'm sure dumars won't be hesitant to move on from willie when needed but i appreciate an approach that ain't grandstanding moves just for the sake of appearances.

Everyone likes Bryson Graham so I don't have anything against that.

I am not going to judge Dumars on Willie because I truly do not think it is actually his decision. I think Gayle loves Willie, they don't want to pay a salary to 2 coaches next year, and they ownership does not care about winning much next year.

It is what it is. Hate keeping Willie but that is on ownership imo.

I will judge Dumars a bit separately based on moves I feel he has more control over

Firing Willie wouldn't be a "grandstanding move"

He just has not been very good at his job and coaches in the NBA are disposable

Again, I think ownership has mandated that Willie stay, and its not fully up to Dumars, so he will get a slight pass on this one

This is how stupid they are...

They want to trade Zion because they think his "image" is the reason the team is doing poorly not because of bad moves, terrible injury management, and coaching

cleaning house is a grandstanding move.

willie has had success

willie has also dealt with a shite ton of unusual circumstances.

willie has never seemingly lost the players in the lockerroom which is a bit unusual.

i doubt we extend willie but i guess we will see how it plays out.

but all the negative immediate sky skreaming drama once again was never ever fricking warranted.

especially when you have Malone, Jenkins, and Bud on the open market. No guarantee you’ll have decent candidates next cycle if we wait it out with Willie

No it is not at all. Grandstanding is a show move without substance to gain favorable attention.

Firing the staff and FO of your predecessor that failed is standard operating procedure in sports. You get in your own people that you think won't fail. It isn't " a show".

No, not really.

You have a football mentality not a basketball one. Basketball coaches are substantially more disposable, its apples and oranges.

Your whole shtick this offseason is ridiculous, I will not be engaging it anymore.
