Didn’t we get swept by Tennessee in 09?

At home?

Might have taken 1.

28-2 on the Saturday game that was the SEC Game of the Week of CST. Came back to win the Sunday game, 6-4, I believe. Of course, beat BAMA that year in the national title game.

And went 2-0 vs. UF in Omaha to get to the finals vs. Miami.

Good teams don't get swept in a situation like that.

We know exactly what this team is now and that early season ranking looks silly now.

In a situation like what? The majority of teams that win national titles have one series where they get swept. Should we like it? No. But to suggest this never happens is short-sighted and just wrong. Not saying LSU wins the national title, but it does not go against the nature that the best teams still lose.

I never bought in to the idea this was a national championship team anyway. We lack senior leadership. Guys like Pearson and Brasswell just aren't very vocal

You sit on a throne of lies. Skip never lost a game, much less three in a single weekend. Great coaches NEVER lose. Great teams NEVER lose.

The flip side is this LSU team has already has more SEC sweeps than either of the last two championship teams (2023 and 2009)

I think what we are seeing is a team that is pretty good at everything....but not necessarily great at anything. That means they are good enough to be in every game (which they have been for the most part). But not good enough for one aspect to often overcome a big struggle by another aspect.

I think the mantra that often rings true is applicable today. You're never as good as you think your are, and never as bad as you think you are. Many were overreacting to sweeping 3 of 4 series against some of the lower teams in the league. Now they are overreacting in the opposite direction.

If in 2 weeks LSU is 0-6 or 1-5 vs. Alabama and Tennessee, major concern as to this being a potential championship team will be warranted.

This weekend was weird

Dutton was amped going against us and the home crowd and his teammates fed off of that. It happens.

On Sat and Sun, we were just the complete opposite of clutch. 1 base hit could have won either of those games. Super uncharacteristic for us.

28-2 then came back the next day and beat them to win the SEC. Either 91 or maybe it was 93. LSU lost 15-0 to SLU and won the Natty

Yall are being ridiculous. This was as encouraging of a week as a sweep could possibly be. It seems the bullpen is finally starting to come around. We got swept on the road by a good team, but it's very unlikely that we will ever play that poorly on defense again. And yea the bats went cold but this team has enough depth that we won't have to worry about a long term slump on offense. I think this team showed us more promise this week than what we saw in the sweep vs Oklahoma last weekend.

We played 7 straight road games. That's a lot of time away from your facilities. And despite all that we're still 10-5

At least some of y’all make it obvious to decipher who not to even waste my time arguing with because of the sheer stupidity.

Many national championship winning teams have gotten swept during the season moron

I could have sworn we did as well but after looking it up we won on Friday and lost Saturday and Sunday. The 09 team also lost a home series to Illinois.

Not possible. There's NO way a team can lose a midweek game or get swept and still have success. Haven't you heard?
