Of all the sports watching on tv what these guys do is the most unfathomable. Baseball is up there too but they are usually in position to fail so as a viewer it might not come across the same. Basketball you can be like if i was 6'9 (even though it's unreasonable it doesnt seem like it). But to cruise around augusta in the 60s is just insane. At the masters if your game is A+ you can shoot something. If its B+ or worse your probably fricked

Watch an NFL game from the field level behind the QB and tell me your thoughts.

Golf is by far the hardest thing to be good at. As far as sports go. The practice and having to hit hundreds of the same shot over and over. Focus has to be sharp at all times. There is no defense in golf except the elements and yourself.

Considering he drinks and smokes enough for most people to be dead and he won two majors while doing all of that

Yeah, John Daly is Superman

It depends how you look at it. Some sports require a level of athleticism no amount of practice can overcome. Most somewhat athletic people could be really good at golf if they had the time, money, exposure growing up and weren't busy playing real sports.

Kudos to those guys that put in the work though, what they can do is wild

I mean have you seen his hands, and feel?

I wouldn’t have put it past him to be a dominant cfb center in his day if he wanted to.

Pro golfers are crazy good, its one of the few sports that immense genetic gifts of size and athleticism are not required which makes competition so much harder.

Offensive line is so hit or miss in recruiting because there are only so many 6'5 315 dudes out there.

but look how many pro golfers dads were golf teaching professionals or were rich kids whose parents could provide them with elite coaching, facilities and travel.

You can have all the money or have a so called pedigree but no matter what gifts you have, you still have to mold yourself to be really good at golf.

Anybody who says different never played golf and probably never played any other sport either. It’s by far the most difficult.

Hitting a curveball is WAY harder.

Different. Golf is you against you. A curveball is from another source. It’s hard as hell but overall I say the constant focus sets it above a curve.
