They say music is a powerful tool
to help with Mental Health by lower stress and anxiety. Helps to boost your mood and help with sleep etc

I always find is crazy when I talk to someone who is not really interested in music that much.

I’d say music has always been very therapeutic for me personally. Makes me happy. But not always sometimes music or a certain song can make me feel sadder but I can generally compartmentalize those feelings and still enjoy sadder songs/music.
Music has been my favorite way for self expression and a source of comfort.

Probably most of us on the music board would say yes.

One might say that music is… The Cure… for what ails.

In general, yes.

But there are some expressions of "music" that do nothing for me and I could do without.

Without a doubt. The energy created from Live music is like church. Sound waves and vibrations are known to heal the body as well. Music is probably one of the greatest gifts we have the pleasure of experiencing while here on earth.

This boggles my mind
I don't even care what kind of music people are into, it's very strange when someone is music agnostic

Music is responsible for all the friends in my life, my activities and hobbies. I always have some song stuck in my head. Hearing the right song or melody hits you in an indescribable way, it's cheesy. Most of my core memories I can associate to what album or song I was heavily listening to at the time. I couldn't imagine life without it.

Communal singing is a desperately lost form of natural therapy and cohesion in this country. Think Irish pubs.

Just look at how lame American sports crowds are as compared to Europe or South America. Americans will barely even sing the national anthem they claim to care so much about. Americans leave early if they're pretty sure their team lost. Euros will sing THE LOUDEST when they lose.

If you've ever been a couple of beers in, in a crowd of folks and belting out a tune, you absolutely know how great that is for the soul.

It's good for your mental health unless you listen to AIC's "Nutshell" on repeat.

Why of course. Just consider the etymology of the word, music. What did the Muses do? They inspired humans.

This applies to everyone. Just so many different taste.

Music putting people in state is a natural part of the human experience dating back thousands and thousands of years. We are born with it and we will die with it.

Just make sure you got a damn good jam to play at your funeral.

In a world ruined by politics and social media, rock concerts and festivals bring people of all walks of life together. You don’t look at people the same.

I’ve made all sorts of new friends at these places. I fell in love with goth chicks, with the exception of excessive piercings.

I was on a walk today, listening to tunes of course, and started thinking, if someone asked me, who turned me on to certain bands, I thought of 10 different people and bands in seconds. Music reminds me of people, places, events, concerts. Different types of music for different moments can just make it right. It really does cure what ails you,

I can remember precisely where I was when I first heard The Eagles' "Heartbreak Tonight" while driving in 1979. Now I have a real high when I find otherwise obscure people on YouTube whose singing and instrumental talent just astounds me. Everything from opera to symphonic metal.
