Per Grok “based on available data, Trump's administration spent $710 billion from January 21 to February 20, 2025, compared to $630 billion for the same period in 2024 under Biden, indicating higher spending in the first quarter of his term.”

I hope this changes and we don’t keep increasing spending.

We just going to pretend that judges forcing the admin to pay for things it's trying to end has no effect on this?

I don't think there's been a budget put up to vote yet for this administration. Pretty sure all spending that is occurring is from previous admin/congress. However, DOGE seems to be shutting off the spigot so i'd expect this to change rather quickly.

I think I've read there's still leftover spending done by the Biden administration until September of this year. September is the start of a new fiscal year

The 4 biggest items in the federal budget are social security, Medicare, defense, and debt servicing. Unless we significantly cut some of that, everything else is just rounding errors for the most part. We can't balance the budget just by cutting discretionary spending.

No we are going to pretend Trump is concerned about spending.

Only 2 of the 4 items listed were/are supported by the Constitution

You’re asking a communist to engage in an intellectually honest debate. At this point I blame you for your naivety.

That doesn't mean it shouldn't be cut.

His trips to the Super Bowl, Daytona 500, and his golf course probably have already exceeded what Biden spent.

Per Grok

Per reality, we're currently using a "budget" passed before Trump took office. Happens every time a new president takes office; they just get the handoff, they don't call the play.

Having said all that, nothing suggests it's going to get better. I can hope but I wouldn't bet on it.

Nothing ordered by a judge has impacted spending after Trump took office. There’s nothing that would have been affected in this time period, or at all, for that matter.
