The whole point of STG was to get a school district like Central.
How long before this becomes a reality?

Honor the people who made it possible. The SGHS Broomes or MOPs.

I heard on the radio they’re working on the legislation now so 2026-2027 if I recall. It has to be voted on by the whole state.

The school is still going to suck. St. George isn’t Central or Zachary.

Every "St. George" school I've ever seen is the Dragons.

I’m sure you are trying to be petty in regards to religion etc. but on the note of dragons I find it very interesting that dragon legends exist with relative consistency even in ancient times on a worldwide basis

Best case scenario, district officially forms July 1 , 2026. 2026-2027 will be a transition year to get everything in place and all the teachers hired. Summer programs 2027 will be when it starts with students. This was the process for the other community districts.

It will have 800 employees, so it will take the transition year to find them and get them processed. It takes about 3 weeks just to get the LSP background check done on each school employee. 1st a school board gets elected, then they hire a Superintendent, senior leadership positions, they then hire principals, principals then hire an entire school of teachers. Textbooks/technology times 13000 have to get ordered and delivered. Student data management system will have to get populated with student data. Lunch and buses will have to be decided on and up to speed. Even if they go private with these services, the providers will need months to get ready.

The alternative school will suck.

But yeah 6 new hud complexes built since the St G movement started definitely made this lose some luster.
